Some of y'all may wish to disable the DRL's for whatever reason.
Here's how....
Under the hood, pull relay # 48. It's the one to the upper-left of the screw in the center of the box. Make a mental note of the writing on the top of the relay, so you know it's orientation when it goes back in.
Using a tiny screwdriver, pry the tabs on the sides of the relay to open it up.
Make a mental note of how the guts are in relation to the cover writing, in other words, the brass-looking part is on the RIGHT, the diode on the LEFT.
Cut a small piece of plasticised business card, and slip it between the relay contacts as shown.
Pop the cover back on the relay, put the relay back in it's slot.... DONE.

DRL = Daytime Running Lights. But just out of curiousity why go through all this work when all you have to do is pull the toggle back and disable the auto lights. That's all I do everytime I get in the car. Then when it gets dark out I turn them back on again. Never seemed to be a problem in the past.

I would recommend to leave them enabled for the simple fact that we are in a SMALL car that needs every opportunity to make you visible to other drivers.
When they first brought mandatory DRL laws into Canada I thought it was ridiculous to require that everyone have lights on at all times. Now I am converted. When executing the "loooong pass" (or even a short pass) on a motorbike or in my sol, the twinkle of DRL's in the distance lets you know whether or not the speck in the distance is oncoming. I really notice it, and miss the reassurance DRLs give, when I ride down in Montana, Idaho, etc.
So don't disable them, they really are a good idea (just like seatbelts & airbags).

Explain toggle

He means that he twists the stick on the left clockwise once to turn off the daytime lights. Again to turn them back on. Remember to hit info to get your DIC back when you do this.
Location: Under an invisibility cloak, somewhere in the Northeast
This may only work on the 2007, 2008 and 2009s Solstices, for those so inclined.

Too bad we have to rig our cars to do this. I would rather GM just let those who want Auto Lights to leave the switch on "Auto" and those who want to manually control their lights to do what they want. Other car companies do it that way.

Remember we are talking about a guy who removed is driver side airbag. I'm thinking he's not to concerned about the safety aspects of running w/o DRL's!
stevebad, you rock my friend - you have some big ones down there! And you also seem to be a bit of a sparky. Therefore maybe you can help Excelsior and me. We are struggling to get our newly purchased halos to operate in place of DRL's...

I tried this on my 2008 solstice, but I guess I got the wrong relay. Can you please explain which one this is exactly since there are no numbers on them
All you have to do is pull the DRL fuse. It is number 49 in the fuse box under the hood. Look at the diagram on the underside of the cover to see which one it is.

I agree with those that say with a small car like this, disabling DRL is a plan for disaster and personal injury.
