I actually thought about putting three in it this winter... I would have to put the Solstice sideways in the back, but my workbench wouldn't have been accessible all winter then.

I do have an oversized garage, but it's pretty full. BTW, haven't you seen my garage picture?

That is me on the right pouring water into the empty pot (don't ask me, I was just the actor)... but not my real garage. However, my garage is all decked out in a similar fashion though. Not quite the same fancy floor... I painted mine with a two part epoxy and those little flakes for traction.

I am planning to install my Flash2Pass tomorrow, and I have noticed that everyone seems to be tapping the wires right behind the headlight plug. Is anyone worried that the wires might pull out of the plug because of the vibrations from the wire taps?

I am planning to tap the wire down where the headlight wires leave the wire bundle on the drive side and attached the unit to car frame.

PS: I have an 08 GXP, is it the Green and Black or Yellow and Black wires?

I noticed that everyone has installed the Flash2Pass just behind the headlight plug, is anyone worried that this might make the wires come out of the plug?

I was thinking of installing the taps lower down, where the wires for the headlight leave the main wire bundle. That way I can attach the transmitter to the frame.

I confused on which wires I should use, is it Green and Black or Green and Yellow or some other combination?

Well I installed my Flash2Pass yesterday, but I did it a little different from what is shown in this tread. Instead of tapping the wires right behind the headlights plug, I did it down the wire where it leaves the main wire bundle. I was worried that over time the taps could cause the wires to work their way out of the plug. I am sure this is not going to happen, but I did not want to take a chance and this location allowed me to tie the transmitter to the frame. I need to go back and tie down the wires!

It is interesting that the Flash2Pass works great but does not work if my door is already moving, in other words if the door is closing, I can stop it with the regular remote but not the Flash2Pass.

I found that on the 2008 GXP I had to use the Yellow and Green wires (NO BLACK) for the Flash2Pass to work with the headlights on or off.

I'll chip in my "Love It!" here too for the F2P. I bought one off of eBay a couple of weeks ago and just installed it this morning. Our garage door opener is a Stanley, and it works perfectly with it. I tapped into the 2 outside wires right at the headlight bulb, ignoring the center Black wire. Pretty much what everyone else did here.

Note to NaplesTopless....I tested to see if it would work while the door was already in motion, and it does. Perhaps your issue with this not working is a "feature" of your door opener? I don't see any way you could have wired it wrong that would cause that problem.

2008 GXP Install

I just installed the Flash 2 Pass on my 2008 GXP. In my case it was the Black and Black/green wires that needed to be used.

I experienced problems initally with intermittant woeking. It would close the door but not open it (from outside the garage). The receiver was loacated on the back wall of the garage. Metal door and and Escalade in front of the receiver appeared to present too much metal. I relocated the receiver to the front of the garage (now I can open the door from either end of the garage a plus with the wife). Still intermittent. I replace the taps with a different type and added about 2 feet of wire giving me more flexibility in placement of the transmitter. It was still intermittent. Final fix was to reprogram the receiver - this appears to have resolved the problem.

Unsure as to why the reprogram worked - this makes me wonder if a non-programmed unit might trip the door. This is highly unlikely but can be worrisome. I had a friend in california that lost a Porsche to someone that managed to open his garage door (before rolling codes).

One nice feature would be to be able to add an antennae wire that could but run outside the garage to increase the range. Brick and metal kind of block the signal.
