I heard rumors that Seibon is working on a carbon fiber hard top for our cars....anyone else hear anything? I know they will come out with one right AFTER I sell my car.

Sounds like a good reason to not sell the car.

I just emailed them asking if they are planning anything for the Solstice. Let you know when I get a reply.

seibon parts are notorious for poor fit and quality... good luck though.

Bill, you didn't happen to get it at Perry? I was in there talking about the GM hard top and they mentioned installing a top for someone... i can't imagine he was talking about the sport wagon though.

That's weird. I heard Seibon was one of the best producers of carbon fiber products.

seibon and vis are both mediocre quality. For a part that's all glass the carbon you DO get it's wet hand laid and most of the time the final product weighs more than stock.

On the fit, there are countless threads out there on the poor fit and finish of both vis and seibon.

You all need to look at the new hard top Smoothline is working on. It is the result of a couple years of comments and desires of forum members. Go to the Venders section down to SmoothLine and there are five pages of photos and comments. Many of us are excited about this.

Yep, no kidding, I will take the best offer for my EDAG Hardtop. Oh, and also, you have to be close enough to Virginia Beach to come pick it up. Here is the deal! This is the second top I got from EDAG. The first had some issues with the hatch where the material they used to build it did not support the rear hatch. I returned that one and got another. They fixed the hatch issue with support beams on the inside of the roof, but once I got it painted, you can see in the finish where the supports are glued on the other side. If you are not as particular as me, it probably would not bother you, but I was not satisfied. Also, with their hatch fix, it leaks a bit. I suppose if you cared you could easily fix it, but I soured on the whole hardtop idea. EDAG made it right for me, but decided they did not want to pay the shipping to get the top back. Hence I have a roof I am not going to use. It has a professional paint job (black) painted by the Pontiac dealer where I bought the car. Its an exact paint match.

You can see what the top looks like on my photo below. You can shoot me an email at gradwell3@cox.net or answer this thread if interested. This will be a pretty sweet deal for somebody who wants a hardtop for the cooler months. I will take offers up until August 20th, 2008. Whomever has given me the highest bid, even if only a dollar at that time, and will come pick it up, its yours!!!! This top retails for $2499, plus I paid $700 for the paint job.

Happy bidding folks!

If you want to get rid of this hardtop, you probably should start your own thread.

I did have Perry paint it but I installed it myself. I use them as they are pretty much the best paint shop at the beach.

I notice they moved my post. It would probably be a good idea to let people know where you ship their posts off to if your going to do it. I did find it under items for sale.

Also, if you dont like the top, dont buy it. Some people like the look.

I offered them a hood at Sema for development. They did not seem to take it too serious.
