Installed my WR on Saturday....worked fine all weekend. This morning I get into the car (still dark), the WR won't come on ? Hit the highway and the cruise control won't engage. The light on the steering wheel is on for the cruise but no dice.
Not sure if these are related and if so why/how ??? A fuse maybe ???? If it was a fuse, I would expect the light for the cruise control to be off no ?
I am going to check the WR wiring tonight when I get home but I doubt there is a problem there.
Coincidence or does anyone see a connection ?
Thanks for any thoughts in advance.

I don't have an illuminated wind restrictor but I noticed a couple days ago that my cruise control will not engage either. I get the light on the sterring wheel same as you. I looked in the manual but it does not identify which fuse the CC runs to so without pulling them all I don't know which one to check. If it is tied into an issue with patching the restrictor into the brake light line it may be the same problem for me cause I do have illumintaing rear plate bolts patched into mine.

Reason: spelling
I tie my light into the parking lights as you can't see it durring the day anyhow. Have not had any issues with the cruise. Good Luck

I'm going to take a closer look tonight Gunny....if I find something I will let you know buddy. Hopefully it's just a fuse but the connection with the CC is wierd.

Thanks,
Same here if I figure it out. I would love to get it working again before I head down to Ohio for the T2TR here in a few days.

Checked lastnight and found that my ground wire had pulled off of the screw/washer I put it on. Re-attached and CC and light work fine now. Still unsure what the connection between the two is but that was the problem. Check your ground connections and make sure they are rock solid. Hope that helps bud.
Cheers

Cool, Glad you got yours fixed and without a trip to the dealer. I'll check mine tonight. The body shop are the ones who reconnected them when they reassembled the tail end. I may go ahead and remove the light bolts all together and see what happens if the ground is good. What is probably happening is the loose ground is causing the CC to think your tapping the brake pedal which as you know is one way of disengaging the CC speed set.
Thanks

Well I tell ya. That's just the darndest thing. That was my problem also. I tested the plate lights when I applied the brakes and they we no longer coming on so a digging I went. Not only did the body shop have a bad/loose crimp (wire fell right out when I grabbed it) but the guy stinkin wired it backwards (pos. to neg. and neg. to pos.). LED's will illuminate in either polarity so it didn't reveal itself as an issue right off when I looked the car over before taking it home from the shop.
I corrected the cross polarity and re-crimped all connections. tested the brakes and now only one LED lights. HTe added resistance must have finaly worn it out. So, since I don't have a replacement lying around I went ahead and just capped off the wires till I get them replaced.
Took her out on the freeway and low and behold "cruise engaged". The fluxuation in resistance from the loose connection (and in my case the cross polarity) had to have been giving false readings to the CC system. It's the only possibility for this to have corrected it.
This is why I love this forum. Two people in two different countries having the same isue with the same car and getting it figured out in two days without a wasted trip to the dealership. Now I can save my legs for the fun stuff on Saturday vice stomping a pedal for 5 hours getting to the starting line.
Thanks and enjoy
