For those who have done HID conversion:

I have some question and perhaps in need of recommendation. I've had mine for almost a year now at 6000k , and well, it seems about 5-6 months, one of the bulb would go crappy, changes color and burn out -- you can see the gas chamber of the bulb becomes blacken out by the burnt gas.

While the manufacturer is doing a good job at replacing them with their 1 year warranty, it's still costing me shipping and handling fee, not to mention going through a period of withdrawal from driving because of having to switch back to ugly yellow halogens. If I remember correctly, shouldn't HID bulbs last even longer than halogen?

So, for those who has done HID conversion, have you had any really successful set of bulbs that has last more than 6 months? If so, can you guys please reply with the brand/manufacturer and/or where i may buy a set of bulbs. I just need these, i already have the ballasts and all. Thanks. And don't tell me to do a full projector conversion, I'm saving up for a DDM.

Your correct, the HID bulbs should last much longer than your's are........I would suspect that it's not the Bulb, I would say that it's either the Ballast or the cars electrical system that is frying the bulb. I have seen this before in our months of R&D. We have completely solved the issues with our HID 2.0 Kits. We have members that have our early kits in there car for more that 18months now and there still on the same bulbs with no sign's of wear. Also if this is the case you could be leading up to a much larger problem down the road, like frying your DLR Sensor....I have seen this happen as well.

I would love to send you a set of our bulbs but from what you are telling me it won't do any good because you'll need to replace them in a few months anyways. It's best you change the entire kit and be done with it, at least you won't have to worry about your bulbs going out every few month's.

Our new HID 2.0 Kits are priced for our members at $150 for the headlights and $140 for the Fog Light conversion....and that includes shipping!

Hope this helps,

Martin

Right now I am running a Ignited kit. I have been so for almost 2 years now. No problems over here.
