This may sound crazy to you but I have not washed my car in nearly a year. I never drive my car in the rain or in the winter. All I do is use the Calfornia duster first, then use some spray detailer then some spray wax, and believe it or not my car looks showroom new. My car color is black and this is my second one. I did more damage washing and drying my first black solstice putting swirls and scratches on my paint from rubbing the surface. I always used micro towels too and was always careful when washing and drying. I know a lot of you are daily drivers and this may not apply to you. My car is for pleasure drivng only. I wonder if the old classic car owners do the same as me

That is amazing!!! You should show pics and give more tips regarding your procedures. What about waxing? I can't picture waxing a car without washing it first.

I wash mine at least once per week. Even if it does not get dirty from the rain I gotta get the bugs off the front of the car.

I avoid rain, but the bugs are hard to get rid of without a real wash.

I will try to get my daughter to help me post some pictures. One thing I do once a year is clay bar the car then do what I stated above for the rest of the year. My cars finish is as smooth as a babys butt with no grit feeling on the finish, and looks like black glass its amazing

50-100 miles a year doesn't warrant bothering to own one IMO

My Deep will be three years old in Oct.

Been washed twice (each time after the annual Arkansas Run).

Otherwise, California duster and detailer.

The finish is smooth and without any swirl marks.

I washed mine three times this year. Once after the SOS in the spring, again after the Twistie to the River and last month after Mid Ohio. The only time the car has ever seen rain was after the Twistie and Mid Ohio. California Dusters work great.

I also have a Mysterious Sol and it get's washed only 2-3 times during the summer usually after a multi-day event such as Mid-Ohio where we had pretty heavy rain and the trip to and back from the Tail of the Dragon. Other than that, it's the California Duster and Maguires Ultimate Detailer. The car sleeps in a heated garage in its car-cover cocoon during the Winter - no salt or gravel

Regarding bugs: I also have the clear bra and with a good waxing, the bugs come off fine using just the detailer.

My car is Sly. It has never been washed. Only been wet once while on an organized run and went through some light rain.
I use a Kozak rag on a regular basis, a micro fiber towel (dampened) to remove bugs, etc, and a coat of carnauba wax. No swirls or scratches here.

For some of us, our Solstice's are our "Toys", and not used for daily drivers. I have had my Brazen GXP for almost a year and have only hand washed it twice, and also only 594 miles. My Mysterious had swirls after the first wash - never again.
