Okay I've seen lots of posts, probably read most of them..
What I want to know is which HIDs should I go with I see xtralights.com has a Digital set for $439 which offers exceptional color matching.
At the lower end of the spectrum I see the xenonhidworlds.com $125 HID conversion kit.
What I do *NOT* want is a car that looks like someone threw in cheap HIDS as an after througt. I see lots of crappy cars with HIDS and they look horrible. I want something that looks quality and perhaps somewhat exotic.

Unfortunatly every hid kit you throw in will look cheap with a terrible beam pattern that blinds oncoming traffic. What you need is an hid projector retrofit, the average price is around $700 for the job.
Not gonna be one of those people that posts the same damn thing on these types of questions. If you're asking for an HID kit, I'll recommend some HID kits, not try to tell you you're stupid and should pay more for projectors, even though you stated you wanted HID's...NOT projectors!! Sorry for rant, but it seems like everytime someone asks for product suggestions, someone always trys to turn the subject!
YES, projectors are the way to go, but if you want a good HID kit I'd recommend XenonDepot or XtraLight.
XenonDepot has some extra wiring boxes which will make install a little bit more difficult, but it's not too bad!
STAY away from Bi-Xenon kits. I've had 3 different brands in my car and the technology just isn't there yet. A magnetic to move the bulb...come on! Anywho....there are tons of options out there, just look at the quality...water proof, pre loomed wires, quality of connectors. That's all!

If by good you mean quality components then im sure the more expensive kits have them, but the beam pattern will be just as bad as those $99 ebay hid kits. Its a known fact that all hid kits look like crap in a halogen housing no matter how much they cost. If you want to be one of those people who annoys everyone else with your bright lights then go right ahead. But if you want it done right spend the cash for an hid projector retrofit.
For $700 you get a low/hi beam projector, proper plug in harness and you wont look like a newbie blinding everyone with a hid kit.
The GM Roadsters club is offering HD kits, one that allows you to keep your hi-beams. I don't know much about them but have been tempted. The problem is that I currently use the Flash2Pass garage door opener as well as having Halo lights installed. I'm just not sure that these would work with the HD kit. But anyway, you can try the GM Roadster's site and take a look. http://www.gmroadster.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&c ategory_id=6&Itemid=68

100% with this. I have xenon for two years now and no problems.
Im still confused why people say that HIDs without projectors makes the light skew off at random angles. Wouldnt the light go out at the same angles as the halogens? Your still providing a point of light at the same starting point as the stock. So how does the light reflect differently?

Easy there Shabby....not knockin you, just trying to help this guy out. He obviously doesn't want to spend alot of money on lighting, which most people do not want to as well. Forums are for reference, so I'm just stating what I know, and what I'd recommend. I'd put in projectors if I wanted to, but my tinted headlights, lowered solstice, and adjusted beams do not get anymore oncoming traffic flashes than my stock halogen bulbs recieved!
Yes we do carry a Hi/Lo HID kit for the Solstice owners, they re $225 for our members. They are 100% plug & play no wire cutting and they only take about 30 minutes to install.
We have sold about a dozen units so far and everyone loves them…..
Yes it would be nice to offer a proper projector beam housing but the conversion would be far to costly and on a one-off basis because no major manufacture wants to touch this.
The Kits we offer a nice compromise and really do look great!
