Nope. No adjustments necessary.
Look at the rearward-facing side (trunk-side) of the silver strip of plastic that separates the trunk from the seat backs. There are four black screws that are accessible from the trunk - facing rearward. By the instructions, you remove these and install four round guides in their place. Leave them somewhat loose or you won't be able to slip the shield in place. You'll see what I mean when you get it. The Kappashield has notches that fit into these guides, then you just close the trunk as normal. It is a tighter fit, and you have to slam the trunk lid a bit harder than normal. The rubbery seal on the edge of the trunk will conform to the shield thickness.
I actually only use two of the guides, one on each end. I left the middle two spots with the factory screws, because the guides stuck out a bit too far and would rub tightly against the canvas when the top was up. I didn't like the tightness of the canvas around the guides. Just seemed like eventually it would wear through. Many members here and Kappasphere themselves via email said they'd never had anyone have top problems after thousands and thousands of miles, but I was too paranoid about the top being damaged. So I'm just using the two end guides, as the canvas never rubs up against them because of the top mechanism. It seems to work just fine this way, as I've driven for hundreds of miles this way with no looseness/alignment problems at all.
