Greetings Solstice brothers and sisters!
I need advice...I have a Mean GXP and want to paint the calipers, but I can't figure out what color I should go for. Red is great but there is a guy at work that has a nice yellow 2007 Dodge Charger Superbee with from the factory red calipers. We always park next to each other to make everybody wish they had our cars, which is fun!
But I don't want to copy the red caliper look so any suggestions?
I am a person who can't match colors to save my life so I ask for opinions from you all...
Thanks!
PS today is the Winter Solstice...I am going to try and get some top down time if I can ...temperature be damned!
It is the first Solstice I have owned my Solstice after all (missed the summer one by a couple days)
I decided to go with red on my Mean GXP. I do not care for yellow calipers on a yellow car (it's a bit too much for my tastes). Here is a rather poor photoshop version to see how a few different colors work.
Good luck and have fun. Remember to torque the brake bolts back down when you are done. That mistake cost me $100 to learn when 1 bolt fell out on me and the dealer had to fix it.

I know what you feel like, when you say your buddy has red calipers and you dont want to follow him and seem like ur copying. Solman has a yellow GXP like I do and he always seems to get the mods on his car before me. Funny thing is that we have same taste in colors and options and it seems like we are completing but were really not. Luckily I live on east side and he lives on west side of time, so we rarely see each others cars except for runs or when we meet for dinner.
Although, this winter I'd like to get a few mod's installed he doesn't have...

But If you don't want red, then I'd go with Black with Yellow lettering.

By the way another finishing touch I did was to paint the center hub with black heat resistant paint. It keeps the rust from showing.
Thats next

You guys are all great! THanks for putting together the pictures to give me the feel of what each of the colors looks like! I love the people on this forum!
Only, now I have to do some serious thinking...they all look great! MadMods, I love the yellow rims! Xtrememedic, I never would have even thought of orange, but it really works! Cpt_Kludge, the yellow lettering really sets off the black ones...And Morfious, thanks for the three color shots!
Now I have to hibernate for the next few months of winter and come up with the right answer...
