Well my interior desilverization project is finally complete. All grey/silver plastic is gone! The only chrome remaining in the cabin is on the ring shaped bezels around the gauges, HVAC nozzles and the shifter.
There’s actually a lot going on here so I may do it in a couple different posts. Beyond the painting there’s also a custom gauge faceplate, a new garage door opener and a failed radio display mod attempt. Most of my prep work is detailed in the following posts…
Anyway, tell me what you think. I know already some will not like the red accents. It would have been easy to paint those items yellow, but I guess I just wanted some contrasting color in there. And I kind of had a theme in mind that anything having to do with exiting the car would be red (ala ejector seat handles in a fighter jet). I had intended to get red seat belts, and I think that would make the red accents more unified. But unfortunately I am striking out on that front. Nobody will touch the seatbelts due to liability concerns.
Many thanks to my buddy Keith King for inspiration, encouragement and patience. And thanks to the my fellow Solstice Forum members who provided much of the same!
So I’m done for a while now. I’m just going to enjoy driving and not worry about any more mods until next winter!

Actually I think it is very tasteful....considering what you had originally...I think it blends very well with the car. And at first I did not like the red handles, stems and buttons, but considering the common theme of these items and the fact that most of my passengers struggle with finding them I can see why you arranged them in red as well...besides red, black and yellow go well together for what reason I am not sure....
I say Good Job!!! besides I really like your front billet grille...for some reason....
