Anyone have the procedure for drivers seat removal for seat cover replacement?

My sol came with a small tear on the driver seat, dealer knocked off $500 for it, I got a NEW OEM replacement for $120 shipped.

I know I saw somewhere step-by step seat cover replacement w/ pics, but I can't remember where.

I removed my seats to do the seat back switch mod.
The seats come out pretty easy. I used a 3/8" drive with a 6" extension and a 15mm socket. There are 4 nuts on the seat rails that hold it to the floor. Slide the seat all the way back and remove the front ones. Then adjust the seat all the way forward and remove the back 2 nuts. Next, you need to disconnect the electrical connection for the height adjustment if it is so equipped. This connection is at the bottom rear of the seat. To get easy access, I put a short piece of 2" x 4" about 8 inches long under the rear of the seat frame. This holds it up so you can see the electrical connection.

If you are taking out the passenger's seat, the electrical connection for the air bag sensor is located at the bottom front of the seat. I propped this seat up from the front using the 2" x 4" again.

Once you have the electrical connections un-done, you need to remove the seat belt connection from the seat. For this you will need a T-50 torx wrench. Once the seat belt connection is off, you can remove the seat. I found that it is much easier to have the top lowered and lift the seat straight up than it is to maneuver it thru the door with the top up.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the seat covers!

I am going to reinforce the under side of my seats. The backrest will be simple to do. Just wondering if the underside of them are put together similar to the backrest. My seat is starting to stretch out (no wonder, hardly any support from what I can feel) And thanks for the info on how to remove them from the car. electrical had me a bit concerned.Just what I was looking for!
This is sooo good!

Be careful to keep your alterations to just the driver's seat.

I did the seat back swap and also installed a 14"X 10"X 2" pad in the drivers seat and a 10' X 10"X 2" pad in the passenger seat.My air bag indicater lights seems to work right, comes on when someone is seated in the passenger side, goes off when they get out.Is this not an indication that it's working right?
