Right now I am about ready to ship them back. I could have done better with the $10 flexible LEDs I bought for the wheels.

Unless something happens to change my mind, this is a major rip off and the "product" is crap.
Where did you get these, Rob? $200 seems outrageous for halo's for a start!

Travis from Trax customs recommends TRS (theretrofitsource.com) - which is where I got my HID kit. And he says their LED halos are excellent.
Certainly, great customer support there - I can vouch for that.

I got them from a place recommended on the Sky forum. They looked great till they showed up with no design or directions. I guess I will figure it out.

They do look great. I received a set of instructions from AAC yesterday. Now I just need to figure out how to make them fit.

Headlight dissassembly

Here is the headlight in pieces and in progress. Its interesting that once you strip the chrome plating the headlights are gloss black.

After consulting with my design adviser ( my lovely wife) I decided to paint the headlights red to match the car. She ,,, I . . . Decided that red with flames would distract from the stripes / flames and going with plain red is a better choice.

Seriously....

Before you do any painting, could you pop the black headlights in to see how it looks, or is that more work than it's worth?

The trial fitting of unglued black headlights would be just so the rest of us could see how it looks, not for any serious consideration on your part.
It ultimately would contribute to an interesting photo sequence: from chrome to black to red.

But I think I see the real problem. Because your car is now being painted, a trial fitting of the black headlights would delay getting it all back together.
