Anybody ever try to put SKY doors and front fenders on a Sol yet? I kind of dig the vented fender mod that I've seen a couple of times (photoshopped or otherwise). I think it looks so much better and more integrated, though, if the lines carry over into the door panel.
So, would it be a simple bolt-on and paint swap, or would it be more involved??

There's a member here that did a complete Sky front end conversion. The doors are completely off from the Solstice and would take considerable body work to make them fit right. Hopefully the guy that did the conversion can chime in.

Yeah, I was checking out Jinsoku's cardomain page just now (after my original post). It looks like he did his fenders and doors custom. It must not be as easy as I had hoped.

I asked hime about it. He said the Sky fenders are a different size than the Sol ones. As I recall they were both a different height and a different depth, so no it wouldn't be an easy swap...
the sky doors and fenders dont fit lol.. the sky's hood is much lower than ours, so if you were to use the sky door skin, youd have to work it up to where the sol hood is, both cars have extremely different body lines, the fenders on the sky are taller, deeper, and wider than ours.. it took a big amount of work, in face in the coming months, were redoing the conversion, again, to get perfect fitment
so even if you were swapping the hood and the doors, everything still wouldn't fit?
Judging from one of Jinsoku's pics above, that still wouldn't be enough. The rocker panels wouldn't line up, either. The rockers are welded to the rear quarter panels... At that point, you're looking at putting an entire SKY body on. Seems that's one big reason Jinsoku has a real one-of-a-kind

i would imagine you could do doors hood and fenders, but the lines wouldnt flow, expecially along the side skirt.. at that point, why not just have a sky? my goal was to keep the roundness of the sol, i have to make a new topic, something terrible happened in a parking lot today, if its sunny tomorrow ill get some pics.. but looks like i wont be at an anticipated show this weekend :-( hit and runs are rediculous.. as if our cars are hard to see..
interior project came to a halt for HIN miami last month, threw it mostly back to stock..
was going to do a center dash, but honestly lost interest.. the yards of CF sitting in my garage are calling my name for a FULL interior project.. since im doing interiors and stereos for a living now, i might be able to invest the right amount of time into it on the side now.. moved from like 70 hours a week to about 30 for twice the money so hopefully the skystice will start getting better and better, its been a long and slow project so far, but 2009 is opening a lot of new opportunities for me

would loose too much in trade-in Like you, i love the front of the sky and the rear of the sol but i'll just have to wait until kappasphere builds their rendering
