Titanium Burl Dash Kit

I finally got my dash kit today - the postal service had tried to deliver it twice but - gee they failed to leave a notice! So, out for a walk, I stopped by the post office with my tracking documentation in hand to find that the kit was there!

I was not keen in the past to dash kits but I saw FireSol's and Treborwhips and I thought that I might like one that was very subtle (yes I know - recurring theme!) and would enhance the monotonous all grey dash on my Sly.

Here is the dash and waterfall before and after:

Waterfall-

Here is the waterfall after-

We all know what the dash before looks like (with added trouble light cord)-

And here is the dash after -

There was one piece that I did not like the fitting of but the rest of the kit was well made and came with everything that I needed to install it except the hairdryer.

I am not too sure about how much I like it at this time because I am sure it will look different in the sunlight. Alas, it has been raining here for the last 5 days! I will post a few more pictures when I can show it in the sunlight which I am sure will enhance the look. It actually is darker that what it looks like here.

I can't say I am a fan of the new look. It looks a little to busy for my liking and would work better if it matched the color of the car or clearly did not vs. being subtly different. Although like you said it is actually darker in real life and once you get a picture of it during daylight then we will be able to judge with more certainty. But if you are happy with it then that is all that matters.

I know - it is freaking addictive! I am now waiting on my SOLO header, cat and SQ2 system which I am going to install myself.

I am still not entirely sold on the color of the dash kit but I will know more tomorrow in daylight as opposed to camera flash and underground parking light. I am hoping it is a bit darker.

Thanks for the compliments, yamatd3...I agree with jayhawker 125 - it is not for everyone but it is my ride.

Cheers

Let me know your thoughts on the cat! I am pondering that! How much louder is the cat? Both me and Ihawk95 agree that with a CAI and Solo headers and mach exhaust its not much louder than stock at all.

it's an added new touch to your car and thats great, but it just looks too much like laminate countertops to me...no offense or anything... =)

Here is the dash in the daylight with natural lighting as opposed to flash. It looks quite a bit darker so I am even happier with it.

Personally, I had a bit of difficulty looking at the original "cheap" looking grey plastic for too long - so now I am looking at expensive grey plastic. Too bad Pontiac couldn't have beefed up the interior a bit but what can we expect for the price of the car.

And this is certainly not a complaint - just an opinion.
