I have searched the trailer hitch threads and read many of them. I am probably going to order the Curt as I having a custom exhaust built for my car and want to get the hitch in place before they build it, but I want to see one mounted.

So, here is my question, can someone post a few hitch pics or links?

In all the trailer hitch threads I read, none of the pics would come up and none of the links worked. I guess it was due to the threads being old.

Thanks in advance!!

You're doing it the right way. Put the Curt on 1st and then get your exhaust.

I agree.

Put the hitch on first then the exhaust.

Pontiac told me yesterday, that they were about to intoduce a trailer to match the Solstice. If they do that, I expect they will also introduce a GM hitch. This may be a local thing, or not ??

Thanks guys for the help, those pictures were perfect! I was hoping the horizontal bar was not exposed, but I guess they didn't have a choice.

You may want to send a PM to Brentil and see if he can provide you with some pictures.
I know he had quite a few posted at one time.

If I recall, the Curt hitch needed some modifications to fit the GXP because of the exhaust routing. Unless, of course, that has since been taken into account. Just something to check for, if you have a GXP.

Good to know people are using this hitch on the GXP. It looks (to me) that there is a fair amount of the bracket which needs to be cut in order to clear the exhaust though. Any fears of loss of strength there?

I'm not looking to haul a lot of weight, but I would routinely use a package shelf type setup and load my extra wheels & tires for autocrossing on there, and certainly use the shelf with a weatherproof box for extended vacations.

Just want to make sure there's no real concern. One of the trailer sites (think online and trailer) has this setup for $157 with free shipping for the next two days.

Sweet. Does this require aftermarket exhaust if used on a GXP?

Please see the Curt Hitch Sticky I created:

End all, be all: Curt Trailer Hitch (and accessories) Thread

You will need to modify the hitch a bit (easy to do) to fit the stock GXP exhaust. Some aftermarket exhausts fit with no issues.. some don't.
