I have another question. I've been looking at those chips for sale on ebay. You know the ones--- increase mileage by 25 more miles and horsepower by 25 or 30. Anyone know if they work? I've inquired about buying one for my GXP, but none of the sellers respond. Some of their auctions state that the chip will not work on turbos, but several do not mention it. When emailed, they must be too busy to answer. Thanks for your help and input. Still considering a Westers tune on my stock engine. Should I do that before introducing any mods? Will everything have to be retuned after mods?

When it sounds too good to be true, it's too good to be true.

Those Ebay chips are a rip off and Westers is the way to go for a GXP tune. If you want to be able to switch to stock, then buy another ECN for the tune ... about $300 more. I am going to complete my mods, before tuning my GXP, but that is JMHO.

most everything on ebay is a ripoff, those 'tunes' especially.

technically you should 'tune' your car for whichever mods you have, they all will affect air and fuel needs/delivery but i don't know if westers can compensate with a canned tune.

good luck.

Not much in the auto world is cheap, what scuba said is right on: if it's too good to be true it usually is.

Thanks for the fast responses. I knew about the "too good to be true addage". Guess I'll continue my research on mods vs cost and application. I've found out that if I get the tune, I can't compete as an A stock in AX. So I might wait to get the experience before moving up in class. Then again, I guess I could put the stock ecm back in for the AX and switch it out to Westers for the street, etc. Would there be any problems that might come up by doing that? What mods are you all doing prior to getting the tune?

If you can swing it, the tune is the performance mod ....period. I am told switching the ecms takes minutes in a 07 GXP.

If that. I can probably do it in under a minute.
