so after a few days of working with them i sucessfully got the pipes in perfect, and anyone who has had a hard time with them believe me they do fit perfect once u figure out how to adjust them properly. on my car i was having a great deal of difficulty with the HKS BOV since it was throwing a code and i didnt know why. so once i determined exactly what was causing the code, i disconnected the factory BOV and connected the new one and everything was fine. the pipes look great, and boost builds a lot faster. i cant wait til the tune comes out so i can really see their potential.
heres a few pictures, anyone with any install question on these dont hesitate to send me a pm after doing a few sets ive got it down to a science.
also, any time i had a question about anything with these hector was just a phone call away, and more than helpful. i feel these pipes are definitly a must have for anyone who wants to clean up the engine compartment, and gain a little power. oh and the BOV sounds insane as well
I also ordered the charge pipes from Exhaust Depot. They're actually being made as we speak and probably getting powder coated (i got the black ones)
My question is this.....What's that small patch of what looks like fuzzy fabric on your passenger side pipe? Is that in the kit or something you added for protection from rubbing something?
Great to hear you're happy, I'm sure I will be too. Can't wait!

i put a piece of felt there and a piece of rubber hose on the hood to monitor if its rubbing or not while driving. that way if it does rub i can safely monitor it without damaging the pipe. as far as i can tell theres plenty of clearance but i just did that to be safe. once im convinced its ok i will remove it
what was throwing the code and what did u do to fix it?
Yes. Please explain and also exactly how you dosconnected the stock and conected the HKS. Are your refering to swapping the vacuum lines or something else?

yeah i swapped the vacuum line over. turns out its still throwing a code but its not affecting the driveability at all. no boost problems and no other issues. i dont know why my car doesnt liek the BOV but on steves (spiky) its perfectly fine. i figure once the tune comes out it wont really matter.

I can't really see in the pics but did you put a cap over the stock Valve or leave it open. I wonder if it could be removed all together and the hole capped off with a plate?
Anyone?

i just capped it. pretty sure you cant remove it. its not hurting anything so its fine ot just cap it.

Wonder if leaving it un capped allowing it to flex and breath would take care of the code problem. The cap may make it sense too much restriction. Just a thought.

The stock bov needs pressure from the turbo to seal it self under boost, it also has a spring to help with this. If you just disconnect the vacuum hose to the stock bov the only thing that will seal the bov is the spring inside, this simply isnt enough because theres at least 15psi of pressure trying to open it.
You either have to have a vacuum hose connected to the stock bov or get some kinda of block off plate.

the 15+ psi is holding it closed not trying to open it. its the vacuum line that opens it. so the code i was getting was p0031, for something with the o2 sensor in the cold side pipe for something with low temp. anyone????? im thinking the BOV purging the system is just rushing air quickly and the proximity to the sensor causes it, but id be glad to know if thats true haha. pretty sure that doesnt effect your driving though, im still boosting fine, running great, and fuel economy is the same

So, ideally, one would remove that tan cap and place a plate there?
