Think you might mean: "According to the tech guy at the Chevrolet dealership in Illinois,.........". Your earlier post appears to indicate that you have only spoken with the Crate Engine Depot.
According to GM, it is not approved or listed for the 2007.

There is an "X" in the 8th digit of the 1982 Phoenix, so it must fit that car also.

"It wasn't just the fact that they used oiled filters, because I've run an oiled K&N on my 07 GXP for 6+ months as have many others with no issues. Most of it had to do with how air was being passed over the MAF causing issues to happen."
That may not be quite the whole story - some had the turbulence issue, but, some did have the filter problem. I had one of the first Fujita's and it set the code immediately. I kept resetting the computer and it would always come back. I decided to get serious about cleaning the maf sensor and took it out on the bench and cleaned, cleaned and cleaned it inside and out. After that it has never set a code. There had to be some contaminant on the sensor that came from the the filter. My point is, no mechanical changes were made and it has worked for 6000 miles without a hitch - after the sensor was cleaned.
Your point may be valid on some of the other brands, but, the Fujita was strictly a filter issue. To expand on your comment, I really have a hard time with the fix that some vendors did with that reducing ring inside the tube - that is really a crude fix.
With it being metal, and pulling under hood air wouldn't it still be a HAI? When Dejon modified his Westers tested it on a flow bench, the modified pipe flowed better than a straight tube. I posted the numbers somewhere a while back.

The Newbie here... I want to buy one of these cars and Im going to get black on black automatic... Will I feel a big diff between the regular engine and the GPX? I need real honest views...
Yeah, you can feel a slight difference between the GXP and the base model. You have to have a sensitive seat of the pants dyno to really notice it though.

THanks!
My last car was bit quicker than the base Solstice and there's a HUGE difference between my old car and my GXP. My GXP would lay waste to my old car easily. There's no comparison speedwise although both handle roughly the same. Some GXP owners (me included) hate the stock Goodyear GS2 tires though.
