Since the Wife is driving her winter Whip, I can swap the turbo out.
I'm going to do my best to make the stock Downpipe a bolt on affair, but I may end up talkin with those Cats who came out with the correct formula high flow CAT.
As you might expect I'll take alot of pics, perhaps a nice how- to writeup.
I fully expect the PCM to piss it's pants, so hopefully I can correct the airflow changes.
Im hoping the upcoming BETA has the VE tables in there as well as boost control.
Stay tuned!

That's quite a turbo! good luck with that! I want to know how you tune it in.. this is the first turbo upgrade i've heard of and it's where the DI motor will shine.

GL!!

This will be the end of the HP drop after 5500 rpm. This will be a great project. I'm sure there will absolutley be room for improvment.

The exhast housing, and intake housing alone will be a reduction in restriction, let alone pure cfm change and better adiabatic effiencies etc etc.

Hopefully you got something with a open A/R right?

It can be had with .63 and .87 on the turbine. The compressor housing can be had in 2.75 or 4".
Im starting with the .63 turbine and 2.75" compressor housing for maximum bolt-on-ability.
I made 232whp @ 7-8.5 psi (fluctuates) with this turbo on a 420A eclipse. And my chassis dyno is pretty damn stingy (land-and-sea dynomite) rigth along the lines of a mustang dyno. The car had a fresh ported head with cams, ported intake manifold ,and the crappiest log manifold from Ebay. I had to make an adapter from t-3 to t-28. The bottom end had 95K on the clock and you could tell she was a little tired.

Needless to say it has me pretty excited. @20psi it's gonna rock 400+whp, but there is a chasm to cross with the PCM yet. Ive been buggin the poor cats @ HPtuners. Hopefully they unlock the rest of the PCM soon.
But in either case the HARDWARE will be in place.

Can't wait to see her when it's done. It should run 12's with a GT30.

What wastegate and BOV are you going to use? I'm guessing a TIAL wastegate?

The 3071R-wg is internally gated. I'll be using the factory garrett actuator. For BOV I'll be stealing the turbonetics godzilla off my vette. I need the recirculation
The vette's now speed-density and can use a tial 50 anywho.

So you said by Saturday?
I am very interested in this, what are the odd of firing that bad boy up and getting some video?

Just log KR and see what happens. Theoretically, you might actually eliminate some knock, even though since you're going to larger better flowing housings, your CFM will shoot through the roof.

Thats what 78% eff @ 300hp? At 400 Whp or appoximtly 42-44lbs/min should fit in there at around 2.6BAr absolute. or 23 psi on your dash give or take a pound.

That should put a good shmelkin' on the 295 35 18's santa's gonna bring my wife. Along wiht a nice drivtrain brace, that wheel hopp annoys the hell outta me.

this project honestly has me excited... seems your going about it the right way should be able to do a decent job tuning it... just one thing to mention...

CAM PHASERS! to maximize the extra boost... move the cams.

no doubt. With the reduced backpressure it should allow me to run much more overlap. Im going to put a 3 bar map sensor on the turbine side of things and monitor it with the dashhawk/hptuners.

I might even say pease and salutations to the FMIC. I happen to dig liquid air cores. Esp refrigerated ones.

Are you going to run an adapter plate on the ex manifold or fab up a new manifold?

Adapter stub for sure. I wanna make this affordable and painless for me and everyone else.
After this has been exploited I will replace it with either a Split tangential 35R or I just got a new GT4094R to try out.
It will be an equal length divided header with possibly twin gates, I havent decided which config either I will go
4 into 2 with a gate on each to mainitain division, or go 4-1 with a gate blocking off half the tangent during low speed and the other as the master pressure control.

Hmm I thought I told my guy the .63. Nonetheless I picked it up from the warehouse today and it's the 4" inletcompressor/.82 turbine.
the compressor inlet is soo damn sexy Im keepin it and using it instead.
Now the other 2.0 I used this on had the .63 and made full boost by 3500.
This one is a .82, but our ex man is worlds better then the one on the eclipse, ad we have DI. Id be happy if it was the same RPM range.
I'll post up a pic in a min here

Gettin pretty excited!

I can't help but

I know you aren't the first one to do this, but I'm not sure how the other one pulled it off. A local motorcycle shop did his tuning. I'm still trying to find out more details...no luck so far...
