I have a question since it does not seem like GM is going to give us a larger turbo anytime soon.
I know that BTF is doing something similar to my question but I am not looking for guvs of power but just about 325 - 350 BHP\torque.
What turbo will just bolt on with no modifications and give you that power using the 20 psi limit from the ECM and having Westers or someone else take it 7K RPM with a fairly flat torque up to this RPM range.
Why.
BSR tune $1000.00 but really no top end power after 5500RPM.
Westers $695.00 and the same problem even though he let's you go to the 7K RPM.
Slightly larger turbo with new MAP and some tune that gives you 330 - 350 Torque all the way to 7K. (price $1000.00 - $1300.00)
I still would love to know what turbo model was on the GXP-R concept at SEMA, that looked like an easy bolt on from the pictures.

LV- if your into a more spirited 3-7K +powerband, what your looking at right now +wester's tune will do it.
I'm going to call him tomorrow afternoon and see if we can get something going. He could have an off the shelf calibration for my hardware. In addition I hear he is working on a solution where he has unlocked the requested torque and rev nanny, but I can still provide you with free tweaks Via HPT.

The manual states:
"The ECM detects that the actual boost pressure is less than the desired boost pressure for greater than 4 seconds cintinuously or 50 seconds cumulative. "

Well who's next?

Do the people want me to build a smaller internal gate setup? or do you want me to put a larger compressor wheel on the stocker? Something like a Gt2876 wheel on the BW quill?

Or a ballbearing cartrige in the BW turbine housing?

As a side note,
if you have an automatic and live near me, I'll install my GT30 kit for almost nothing if you buy during the factory group buy. I need confirmation for fitment.

Next is throw some valve springs in whatcha got, turn up the rpms to 7500 or so, get it tuned, and on a dyno.

Why scrap an incomplete project.

Scrap? no scrappin goin on here, brother!
I call the GT3076R done, not scrapped. It's ready for production down to the last detail.
I cant do anything about the RPM without LYndon's help, We should be able to work together to come up with a solution. I'll have to ship him my pcm, so maybe next week we can see what High R's will reveal. It's possible we'll need valvetrain upgrades. It's possible that we dont.

Im just looking for input at what's next on the plate- a more middle of the road turbo for those that dont wanna rev past 6500, but want ballbearing response/durability. Imagine the torque number from 35 cool psi@2500!
Or do ya wanna bitchin' header instead?

I am use to S/C's so I really like the response of our present turbo that start low in the RPM
The only thing I may not like from your present setup is the wait until 3K if my understanding is correct.
I saw some number on a 16G (375 - 380 BHP) which I believe Dave is doing and also his confirmation of less lag on this turbo, plus the price makes this maybe what I am looking for.
BTF, what numbers do you have with your setup and normal 20 psi.?.

So it kinda sounds like you are gonna build a turbo kit and package it with a westers tune. How close to having something you could say is bullet proof and good for a daily driver?

Will the gt2876 fit? It seems a bit large, similar size to the 3071r. What aboot a mitsu 16g wheel?

I think it will. It depends on what the Quill dia is for the BW.

LV- yea below 2500 there isnt much torque to be had. This turbo shifts the powerband up the RPM scale. Can't have it all.

We'll see what numbers we get with the increased rev capability. So far I have gotten an average of 50 more Whp over the stocker from 3500-6300. Its still making power when the throttle closes, rpm's are the key. With 7500+rpm there should be about 70-80hp over stock at stock boost pressures.
Wester's can give you 7500 and 23psi. That should spell 100-130whp over stock.

I think you should tryout a meth/water injection on a stock ECU and see how it reacts.

What about the smallish turbine wheel? It'll need a massive clip or it'll surge like crazy.
Have you measured the stock compressor/turbine wheels?

BTF,
The thing I like about your setup is you have use all the stock OEM parts, such as the IC pipes intercooler and intake.
Do you have a price in mind yet for this bolt on plus some extra parts from you.
Do you also think Westers and your Co. can work together to get the 7K -7.5K to work?.
Also please publish some dyno and 1/4 mile number for us please.
