It'd be awesome if you and Wester's could hook up for a well sorted out GT30R upgrade & tune that allows full power, 7k+ rpm and no limp.

Have you heard of the new HTA turbos Forced Performance is selling? The GT35R version is supposed to spool faster with more power than the std Garrett version. I upgraded the GT35R in my STi to this turbo and we'll see how she spools.

Thanks,
Russ

I agree. Since HPT has all but abandoned developement on us, really the only option to have fun with any bigger Whistle is to get someone like westers to provide PCM's that have the ETC rev limits and torque request tables maxxed out.

Any updates? Even the crappy 2.0T FSI ( Volkswagen ) motor is putting out more than our cars mod for mod.

yeah but that thing isn't nearly as high strung as our motor... it's only 100hp /liter from the factory so there's a lot more room to grow. It's even DI, so it should be comparable to the LNF.

Anyway, I think there's a lot more power in that VW engine than it got pushed out the door with, so there's more to gain mod for mod. The fact still remains though that without fully understanding the cal, we've got nothing. Faking out the ECU to get results is still half assed.... soooo who's for crackin?

I'll be selling Wester's 2007 race tune in a HP tuner's flashable version very soon. As soon as he sends me the 1st version for test flashing (any day now), I'll be adding it to our "fuel & electronics" page for $495. He says it will cause problems for anyone who tries to change the VIN and copy it for another car.

Very interesting... so while HP Tuners can't decipher the ECU, Westers did and is able to use HP Tuners to load it up.

What are the exact specs of this tune? I know he advertises 90hp. How about revs? Do I understand that it lets you rev past 7k?

Thanks,
Russ

Yeah, I am, but reverse engineering the cal is a market problem, not a capability problem, atleast imho. Or else what are you saying?

BTF have you tried running BSR software first?
I know you spoke with a Saab 2.8Turbo Guy, and hes having luck with being able to modify his crap as long as he has the BSR first. He is also tuning with a HP Tuner.
