So where are we on this now? A nice summary would be cool.
IE, dyno a stock Solstice GXP on BTF's dyno (unless he already did this). Then dyno the GT30R setup.
I recall 19psi and a bit higher mentioned... how much boost can be dialed in? If no boost much higher than 20psi, what's holding us back? The IAT2 issue's been fixed.
My thinking is: A solstice GXP ought to be able to make 400whp or so at the wheels on a GT30R.
Typically, you see STi's go from 235whp to 400whp with GT30R's. This, on a less efficient motor design than the Sol's Inline-4.
Once we get a turn-key setup that approaches 400whp, I'm all over it.

Where the BTF kit is really going to help is over 5000 rpm. Here is some data on the stock turbo. I have the dejon manual boost controller and IAT2 regulator. I am slowly raising the boost and probably have a bit to go. These are from logs, you CANNOT look at a boost gauge and compare this data:
1. Currently boost is set at 22.5 psi.
2. It holds 22.5 all the way to 5000.
3. Between 5000 and 6000 it drops to 21.1 psi.
4. At 5980 rpm the MAF was 36.2 and still rising. It will probably hit 37 at redline.
5. Max load was 330%.
6. The boost curve is perfectly flat (22.5) all the way to 5000 rpm.
7. I found out the tuning is difficult if not impossible with the combination of the MBC and the rod adjustment.
8. One last thing, no matter how tight and perfect you think you have the hose clamps, don't be fooled. I thought my clamps were all tight. I had not changed the intercooler clamps to the band clamps, but, I was sure the old clamps were not leaking. after I changed the intercooler clamps my LTFT increased 4% .
I stopped uping the pressure for now for 2 reasons
1) it's still pretty crappy here in Roch NY. Since it all had to come off for fixturing, now is the time. (to prevent dirty looks from wife, and not the good kind)
2) I would like a more elgant solution then clamping the map's. the VE# goes wacky as in a default rich zone to prevent damage, who knows what the hell the cam timing is doing.
Since the hardware is proven and ready to rock I focused on production supplyline & capability in the hopes that HP tuners would step up to the plate.
I want the Master allowed torque (where are you hiding?) and Rev limit upped.
We know what the goods are capable of delivering. the 9.5whp/psi reflects that all stock you should get 380+whp on a land and sea DYNOmite or Mustang dyno at the limits of pump fuel. With an intercooler upgrade and exhaust you might see more.
Brentil has PM'd me back , now I have discovered that I'm a pretty crappy artist. lol. I need to make a better logo.
Your going to love what 4" pipe does for intake sound. the turbo screams it's arse off. goosebump worthy even.
Nice! I can imagine the sound. I've run a 4" inlet pipe on my STi and had quite a short intake pipe on a turbo Miata. I'd like a little more 'cussshh' sound from the BOV. The stock one sounds like little short duck calls.
I love following the progress in this thread. My personal goal for a vehicle is to have around 350 whp. I also like the quick spool response of the stock Borg Warner. I was wondering if this kind of horsepower and response would be possible out of a Disco Potato? Gt28RS I believe? Does the GT30 and GT28 have similar flanges? Would it be possible to adapt your kit to the GT28RS? I'm at least a couple years out before I actually go for this modification, but I love to dream.

Didn't get the Sol... but I got the Sky Redline
The GT28 can be substituted in for sure. If Tial makes a SS housing for it it can be fabricated in.
A disco potatoe flows around 36-37lbs min max. It would be working as hard as the BW at 350whp. Maybe a 2871 would be a better compromise.
Wait till I get my dirty little mits on a porsche VNT..
Since alot of you with auto's have PM'd me I thought Id ask. Is there anything different in the area around the turbo/cat/engine mount form the 5sp? pics?
Shabster, Jack you fellas arent too far away. Maybe springtime you can whip up to my place for some independant testing.

Maybe we can have that date coincide with a little track time, what strips are nearby? To clarify the boost levels I'm now running, I am not clamping the map, just the regulator on the IAT2. You are right though, the VE and maf airflow have started to deviate at the higher rpm/boost levels. When I was running under 20 psi, I had them fairly close.
350whp is very doable and can easliy be accomplished with the gt3076R.
You'll only need the GT3582R if you want to push north of 450whp.
I saw something interesting today, Summit Drag Raceway (originally Norwalk) is hosting the Pontiac Tri Power Nationals. An argument could be made that this track is the finest in the country. When is the last time you saw a dragstrip where parking and staging is all asphalt.
I wonder if they have a place for the Solstice or just an open bracket.

Atlanta Dragway and Cecil Motorsports Park in GA are both all asphalt,
The majority of our local dragstrip is. NYRP on 36 in leicster.
After the track opens in april
Take a friday off, shoot up here in the mornng, we can tune by noon. Mow down a Wahlburger on our way out to the drags, friday night test and tune starts at 5pm and runs untill 11 if there is enough cars there.
