How long before GMPP upgrade performance is experienced?

I know there has been ample information posted about the GMPP performance upgrade.

I have a specific question, though:

Does the upgrade take a little while for the ECM to re-learn everything and thus for the driver (me) to experience all the benefits, or is it pretty much right away?

I have read from some that a number of key cycles (not sure what they are) are having to pass before all performance enhancements are experienced, and from others that the enhancements are experienced right away.

I am planning to have a dealer perform the upgrade on the last day of my insurance coverage (as it turns out), before she is taken off the road for the winter. Am I needing more time to get the car transitioned before taking her off the road?

On a stock car, the improvement is immediate. If you have added a lot of power or torque adding mods, the ECM has learned down to 260 ft pounds. It can take a few key cycles to learn back up. It appears that if you do a reboot of the ECM, by pulling the power for a few minutes, the ECM will reset to the data tables and loose the learn down data it had contained.

Yes, mine is stock - no additional performance parts have been added.

So to clarify, in this scenario, the performance enhancement should be immediate?

I felt the difference getting on the freeway immediately after getting it installed. Hammering the throttle in 3rd on an onramp is a rush...

My car ran significantly stronger the very first pull out of the dealer.

Thanks for the info, all.

Helped me decide that it was OK for me to have the upgrade performed on my last day of insurance (before retiring her for the winter).

I had the upgrade performed today. It is horrible weather (monsooning), so was not able to put her fully to the test; but out of the dealer's parking lot ...... spinning tires, fish tailing just stepping on it in a straight line...... yup, significant increase..... can't wait 'til spring!!

I noticed a increase right away in my stock GXP, but there was also some residual improvement after a few key cycles. Worth every penny in my opinion
