Knock retard... level/number?

I just got my HP tuner, and started looking at the scan and everything...



I guess my questions are:

1.) what is a tolerable KR level number? 5 degrees? 10 degrees?

2.) with forced induction engines like us...having turbo........can we completely eliminate KR?

The way the Bosch unit works, it brings the vehicle to the knock threshold all of the time. As long as the sensitivity isn't touched, having a couple of degrees now and then isn't very bad.

I seek to eliminate KR completley due to my experiences with the 3800. The bottom end would take a nuclear explosion as long as it was timed right and you could slow it down, but the second you got too fast of a flame front even on stock power levels, there went a piston ring landing.

So, it's up to you.

The guy who dyno'd my car hooked up his HPTuners to my car on the 3rd run. He showed me the results and I had zero knock all the way thru.

Your hitting 10 degrees of knock retard? Thats pretty damn high. Can you post a log of that?
Is your meth injection spraying at the time that you're getting this high count of knock retard?

no-no...

I just mentioned 0-10 degree knock, I didnt say I'm having 10 degree knock. If you look on the right side of the screen of HP tuner, you'll see 0-5-10 numbers for the KR.

I was just wondering what is a "tolerable" knock for the LNF engine.

I saw mine, the highest was 4.5 degrees.

My meth kit was off at that time.

Ah ok, btw those numbers on the side are adjustable anyway.
Didnt you mentioned before you were using the hotter tune that lyndon made specifically for meth injection? If so, then i would keep the meth running all the time, im sure lyndon put some extra timing when your injecting meth.
Post your scan log if you can, i've seen stock cars hit around 2-4 KR, but with your mods i would prefer as little as possible.
