70 Bucks, O yeah!
Hey, I was thinking nah this aren't fer me, gonna cost at least two hunnered.

For what I see,
$70 is more than reasonable.

But, I want a finned heat shield like you see in electronic equipment. I was going to bash one up with rivet on heat shield fins then powder coat it.

I WANT A CHROME ONE WITH FINS

Had a good look at it today, the picture does not do it justice, and 70 bucks sounds almost cheap to me (but then I'm Canadian as well).

I'm in for one at $70. How much to ship to Calgary?

I think my prototype is the only one for now. Since people seem to like it, and find the suggested price reasonable, the part will likely be produced. It's my understanding the that the harware required to reproduce it is already made, we just need to justify it to them.

If you guys want this product, speak up now. Post here and please send an email on the page that I have linked on my sig. Pass the word arround so others car do the same.

If there is enough interest in this and the two exhaust choices, I'm sure MBRP will both support the forum, and the community by offering some neato parts.

Thanks for pointing out that my cable was not in the thingy(?). I fixed that up and luckily didn't ahve any heat damage.

One difference I see from your heat shield vs. stock is yours seems to show what's underneath a bit. I'd like it if it was just like stock (hiding what's underneath) except all nice and shiny like yours.

I see where you are coming from.

The picture posted is deceiving since it was taken from an angle that isn't really possible when viewing the car in person. The hood is in the way. The reason I chose that picture was because the light was reflecting off the shield in the other shots that I took. I think some of MBRP's pics do it justice. Click on my sig link.

Even this shot is an unrealistic angle.

Looks sweet. MBRP are quality folks, we've done work with them on many projects.

Cheers,
The production unit has not been made just yet. I think a few projects have pushed the Solstice parts back. I will send the link to this thread again with hopes that at least this part can be made soon.

Ecoboost,
A nice heat shield stating that the car is tuned by Hahn might be a nice visual to add into a package with your PPC unit.

Make sure they build a shield that is generic enough to fit not only GXP/RL but also aftermarket up to a Garrett 50 series. That would give them a market to include the stock guys plus DEJON-Dave, BTF, Hahn, Werks and DDM.

Would also be good for them to have one on a car at the Southeast Regional meet in Lexington in August! I'll volunteer!

Carlintexas,
No question that having more applications would help motivate MBRP to get rolling on production. Hopefully some of the vendors will take interest. I would love to be able to test a bigger shield. As long as I had the bigger turbo to filll it. I am convinced even the people uninclined to visual mods would still be interested in replacing that tinny looking fatory part.

I am due back to the shop for a once over on my exhaust system later this month. They want to see how it's held up with milleage and to test fit a production unit. Maybe a production shield will be ready to fit aswell.
