I’d like to take another opportunity to thank Jeff, for the magnificent customer service and Solo for producing an outstanding quality CAT for my N/A. I ordered the CAT on a Thursday and I had it on my front porch on Monday morning.
Thanks a bunch and thanks to all for voting so far on my cardomain page.
Looks like we made it to #1 Custom Exhaust out of 10408 other rides.

#1 out of 10,408 very cool! Congratulations BeeCee! Once again thanks so much for the fantastic article that you wrote and all your help with promoting the "Shorty."
Well the original post by beecee sold me – I contacted Jeff at Solo and about 5 days later had a huge box sitting at my front door one evening containing the Street Race and High Flow CAT.
Local Pontiac dealer said no way they would perform the installation as it involved CAT replacement and the new CAT was not certified, hum… after hearing the same response from a couple other shops I was starting to think this was going to be a weekend DIY job.
So I need to borrow a set of ramps from a friend and decided to go pick them up and have an oil change done at the same time on my Chevy 3500 – while my service advisor is writing up the work order I mentioned the exhaust install and the fact the everyone wanted to see a certificate for the replacement CAT – he laughs and says “you take the old CAT home with you so I do not have to dispose of it and we will gladly install the new system”.
I literally flew home and picked up the new CAT and exhaust system, back to the dealership at 12:50 PM, by 3:30 PM I heard this terrible noise and much to my amazement, it was my car being fired up for the first time with the new exhaust system and CAT. By the time they rolled the car to the pickup lane, it was sounding absolutely GREAT!
Next comes the bill, and I almost fell over, $160.00 plus tax for the installation – I was delighted.
Drove the 6 miles back home, reset the ECU and went out for a drive – 40 miles later things started sounding even better, now after a hundred miles I can state for a fact that this is one of the best sounding combinations I have heard in several years on a 4 cylinder and the added power is amazing.
Haven’t thrown a single engine code as of yet but I have noticed what sounds like a backfire occasionally if I take my foot off the accelerator immediately after getting on it hard.
I definitely would recommend this combination to anyone; it is not any louder than my Harley with straight pipes and when you are going down the highway at a constant speed it quiets down quite a bit.

Awesome story! Congrats! Glad you like it. It will get a little more quiet after a few hundred more miles but still sounds great!
How do you like the added power? I bet you are loving that.

Unfortunately I never got to try out SOLO on BABY as I wen't back to the future and "trowled up" a field on my birthday, turned 19 .
However, there may still be hope for SOLO in the future as SOLO was top on the list from the start and was on the list to the end.
Their time with me on the phone was valuable and I am sure we will talk again.

I guess they are having too much fun to let us know more information on how they like it.

I love my solo!!!! I got the NA single exhaust, the mach not the race although I wonder if I should have gone race!!! Nonetheless you can't go wrong which ever way you choose. Its got an awesome deep tone. I just noticed after a week the power on the top end is much improved and picks up quicker. Solo is the best and their service is outstanding! You can't go wrong with solo!
