Hello Jim,
We really need to get the
CKC active again. PM me if you would like to guys.
1.) Yes, probably, depends, maybe, count on it in the state of Mecklenburg.
2.) Not yet, have not had my first on
SLY,
So to elaborate, I am told the only reason it wouldn't pass is replacement of
OEM,
but where there is a rule there is an exception and I have not looked this up, so taker as is. If the aftermarket equipment meets or exceeds
OEM in performance, it passes.
So if the vehicle falls within emission specs, you are done with that part, no ifs and or buts and you better have that section with you to prove it.
I would say if you have a good relationship with your dealer and the dealer is at least half way cool or a motor head, then approach the dealer about installing your stuff up front.
You might have to abandon Queen Charlotte and wander up to RACE CITY USA or "Farmout" the work. Dealers make money on shop labor and of course there will be an understanding that the warranty relationship can only go so far and no way will they put themselves at risk. The dealer has to cover their behind with GM and that cover is what makes the majority of dealers appear to be uncooperative or worse.
Now about CABARRUS CO. and others. By the time this is said and done, adjacent county's' to county's' in NON ATTAINMENT will be included in the NON ATTAINMENT area even if adjacent county's air meets EPA guidelines. This is just about all of the state when all the clean air parameters are included especially OZONE. To make a long story short, the new guidelines will apply state wide and many shops will drop inspections all together rather than invest in the equipment and time. Get ready for long waits or half day appointments with our cost being at least $30 no matter how far the sunshine has to be piped in.
No more "Bubba or Earl will pass me"
