Yep I have the Westers tune and the HPTunes from Dejon ... Makes life simple to do updates and I'm learning a thing or two about the tuning world

There are a few things Westers does that others can't and can't been seen or adjusted with the HP tuners, Westers creates the tune then he ports it over to HP tuners to make it easy for us to install and update. HP tuners also offers real time preformence monitoring, the ability to read and clear codes and a lot of other stuff. You can alos use it to tune your other cars. I tune my LS1 equiped Denali, and my sons LS6 equiped GTO, as well as his 4.8 liter GMC pickup. When gas prices went though the roof we switched the trucks from a 93 octane tune to and 87 octane tune with a simple email to Lyndon Wester and about 2 minutes time. COST $0.00 savings about $.40 a gallon. I can switch back and forth any time I want on any of the vehicles, and I can tune friends cars too.

I think it is great we have several tuning options for the community. It sounds like the level of service Westers provides is top notch and is perfect for anyone looking to continually modify and "tune" their car. In my case, I knew that I wanted to install a tune and just drive the car. I don't have a lot of time to play anymore - so saving a few hundred bucks on another tune was a great option for me. I do have one small issue with my tune, but the vendor is providing terrific service and taking care of everything.

So far we have different price points and types of service to meet the many needs of the community. Best of all, everyone on the forum seems to be really happy with the tune they purchase and the level of service provided the vendor - that is about as good as it gets in a capitalist economy.

Yea sure, I don't know, maybe I don't really understand the whole launch control thing so I don't know (yes I understand what is supposed to do, not sure how to tell if it is working). I can do 0-60 in under 4.5 seconds with the traction control on if that helps. I can also turn the traction control off and get completly sideways while laughing uncontrolably and driving down the road looking out my side window, screaming YEEEEEEEE HA!

I have an announcement to make PLEASE.
I am calling ALL the Supporting TUNER vendors to participate in my plan, and together with BTFRacing will give the Solstice\SKY membership, a performance solution that when weight against performance vs $$$ spend will be a win win situation, not only for the owners but also for the Tuner Vendors.
Here is the PLAN.
I will be sending a GXP Turbocharger(GM KO4) to BTFRacing, this Stock turbocharger will get the new upgraded wheel and it will also be Swain Tech.
Once BTFRacing is finish with it, the upgraded turbocharger will be offer for a period of 15 days, to each Supporting tuner Vendor on the forum.
Starting with PCMForless if Alvin\Bryan want to take advantage of this offer and ALL others.
They can have the upgraded turbocharger and for 15 days they can develop tunes for our 2.0 LNF motor. I would like for them to develop tunes 1st using ALL stock hardware except for the Upgraded turbo of course, then they can add what ever extra components they would like to certify with their tune.
Next PCMForless will send the Upgraded Turbocharger to GMRoadster (Martin) and the same scenario of 15 days etc.
From there I would like for Dejon (Dave) using Lyndon's Westers tune and his Dejon IC to incorporate the BTF Turbo upgrade with this tune and any additional pieces they would want to test and offer to the membership.
I will also make the offer to Lyndon if he feels the need to test it in his own facilities in Canada.

I would also like to have Vector Motor Sports another of our Tuner Vendors participate, however they will need a couple of cars to be able to incorporate their tune with BTF Turbo upgraded wheel.
Finally I would like to challenge Hahn from Hahn Racecraft to send his IC with the BTF Turbocharger upgraded wheel, so those members that would like to have his IC, the tuners can also offer this combination.
I also do not want to leave RPI out of the equation, so if they would like to participate on this PLAN they are also welcome to have the BTF Turbo upgraded wheel turbocharger.
After ALL Tuners that want to take advantage of this PLAN are done, then the last one will return the Turbocharger back to BTFRacing for inspection and then finally back to me.
I truly hope that ALL the above mentioned Supporting vendors take advantage of this plan.
I am using the 15 days or 2 weeks for each tuner so they have ample time to develop tunes for different years(07/08/09) and also 5 speed vs automatic.
If they feel 15 days is not long enough we need to come up with a reasonable time table so, tunes can start been offer to our membership ASAP.
My expectations are that after this is done we will have tunes that will give our cars the stock power of a LS1(350 BHP), LS2(400 BHP) and the LS3 (430 BHP).
Thank you.
PS:
BTF the turbocharger is been FDX to me this coming Monday, once I have it I will then ship it to you, for the Upgrade of the Wheel and also the Swain Tech coating.

I believe BTF is already sending an upgraded turbo to Westers's, as far as the other vendors that is up to them and to BTF. Westers already has a Dejon intercooler from Dave as well.

I just got the numbers from Lyndon Wester on the 2008 tune, this is the stock turbo and intercooler and exhaust.

Numbers for car BEFORE any mods, (remember he is at 3000 ft above sea level so numbers are affected, always lower)

"At the wheels--the stock GXP on our dyno only makes 201 RWHP/202 TQ at peak

After the tune maxed out at 234 RWHP and 294 TQ gained huge...down low, which makes the car nuts out of the hole...92 ftlbs, and 33 RWHP (Superflow Chassis Dyno, and eddy current dyno, not inertia figure to add about 9-12 % to equate to a DynoJet )

at a 10% Dynojet compensation 324 torque and 257 rwhp.

This is a huge can in torque, which is what you can feel. It would seem he gained a bit more torque than the 2007 and less rwhp. As finances and time permit I will get my 2007 done again to test the latest tune for the 2007

No he is not for the moment lil goat, since he had to pull the Gt30 because of a mechanical problem and was putting the Upgraded turbo on the car.

Oh yea I forgot he did that, thought maybe he had 2. I just got an email from Lyndon Wester, he has cracked more of the code on the 2007 and 2008. I will get a test tune soon, to replace the test tune I am running now so I will not be dynoing this tune but I would guess based on the fact the last tune was 287 rwhp, the one I am running now is in the high 290's or maybe even 300 rwhp (that is just a guess because I can feel a difference) it hits 26 psi and gets better millage than the old one too.

What do you suppose someone here in So Cal can expect out of this tune, being 453 ft (138 m) above sea level? Big difference?

The closer to sea level you are usually the better performance you see. you are 1500 feet below him, most people see 215 rwhp to 225 rwhp stock.Antonio saw I believe it was 294 rwhp with Westers tune for the 2007 in New Jersey I believe he was on a DynoJet saw over 320 on the torque. From my own experience I have noticed the factory exhaust makes a ton of torque, I saw a Magnaflow and a Solo Street Race and a stock exhaust all dyno'd the same day with the same tune, the stock exhaust made over 320 ft/lbs of torque the others were in the 310 range but had better HP numbers than the stock exhaust. If you got a 20 ft/lb increase in torque you could easily feel it, you should get from 75 to 100 depending on what mods you have. (torque is what makes the tires spin)

Not to be a jerk, but im actually 2500 feet below him....right...?

so you're saying, that at my level, i may see 294 rwhp (330+ Crank hp) and about 335-360 Crank Tq ?

Only mod is Dejon IC

Each car is different. You won't see that much with just an IC. Perhaps with an exhaust and high flow cat along with the IC

The IC will flatten the torque curve and add some low end, over all hp was about a 10 hp difference, when Go-N def and I dyno'd on the same day with the same tune and exhaust, I had the Dejon he was stock. You can see as much difference from the wastegate mod. I believe the Dejon IC allows you to adjust the wastegate out farther before you get knock I think that is where the HP gain came from.
