If there is a way to my it bigger, badder and faster you can figure Lyndon is working on it, and now that he teamed up with BTF the possiblities become almost scarey. By the way for those that don't know, Lyndon and BTF are BOTH machinists as well, can you say headwork! Lyndon told me he learned a lot doing the 2008 tune, he actually created the tuning tool he is using to tune the ECM's so with him the changes and updates will continue as he tinkers, he tends to play with the code in his "free" time. He bought a 2008 GXP to play with so I am sure the updates will be forth coming. I have had my 2007 tune since June of 2007 and it has just gotten better and better, I have lost track of how many updates I have tested, some for only a week or 2 before I get and even better update. Our ECM's are still not completely cracked, so it is only going to get better.

Hopefully he would like to take advantage of the Turbocharger with the upgraded wheel and provide a tune for it.

If you read BTF's posts he already is, and you can buy the Westers tune direct from BTF if you like when it is done, they have been teamed up for a while now.

Lil goat are you sure?. because is my understanding BTF never send his turbo with the upgraded wheel to Lyndon.
I know they have talked to each other, but I thought it was more in line with the Larger Turbo (GT30 Garret) and not our KO4 with the new larger wheel.
If you read his post, BTF said Larger Turbo, the KO4 with the new larger wheel is not a Large Turbo, what we get is more CFM and 36lbs/min.

Spoke with Lyndon himself.

"Yes, we're working with BTF on the turbo upgrade.
Yes, we're working with DEJON with their intercooler and pipes.
Yes, we're working with SOLO on their exhaust systems.

Hope that answers everything.

Lyndon"

Edit: Just realized he didnt specify if it was the larger wheel upgrade, or larger turbo upgrade.

Deep-GXP.
I think is the Larger turbo since that is what he had on his wife's car for a long time.
He did a lot of testing with the GT30, so I think this and the other larger turbos was what he talked to Lyndon.
If Lyndon indeed has already done the tune with the KO4 and the upgraded wheel, it would be a good idea for him and BTF to put some Dyno sheet up on the forum. This way potential customers can see what the gains are with this upgrade to our turbo.
But honestly I do not think this is the case yet. I could be wrong.
BTF is the only one that can put this to bed, maybe he will see these posts and let us know.
What my plan does, is give ALL the tuners the capability of offering the KO4 with BTF upgraded wheel as part of their tune offerings.
I am not taking sides with any of the supporting tuners, is all to each forum member to decide what supporting vendor they want to do business with.

If Lyndon did indeed come out with a tune to work with the bigger wheel upgrade, i'd definitely go with Westers tune. His tune seems to be pumping out the most PSI, as he said 23+ while others are talking about 21 max or up to 23.

He is working with both kits for BTF, Lyndon told me, and it is in one of BTF's posts on a different thread than the upgrade thread. No Lyndon does not have the upgraded turbo yet he has the specs from BTF, he has been at this long enough that with data from BTF he can do a tune for it. He will build a base tune to get the car up and running then work with BTF on honing it in, he does not need the dyno he needs the data from the dyno, BTF can get that for him and he will write the tune. He made adjustments to the 2007 tune based on data I sent him, and data from DeepblueGXP and Go-N Def, and Spikey for the auto. There were a lot of test cars, and people involved in getting the 2007 tune done. Lyndon paid for 6 of us to do dyno runs to get data, I sent him the data. There has been a lot of work behind the scenes by Westers for a long time, with several of our vendors.
Remember when BTF talked about not being able to get the Garrett over 6300 rpm and getting CELs if he held power for more than 3 seconds, Lyndon fixed that issue and only had data from BTF, not the turbo. There is a reason, Dave from Dejon, Jeff from Solo and BTF work with Lyndon, not to mention the guys from HP Tuners.

lil goat, I am not taking anything away from Lyndon, however the offer still stands, the turbo should be at BTFRacing next week.
Again, I am not taking sides, the members of this forum will decide where they want to spend their money.
Once the the different tuners post their Dyno sheet numbers and what each can do with the different mod options, then members will decide who will get their money.
Just like many have decided to buy the BSR tune (PPC) because of the ease of returning the car back to stock. Is more expensive than Lyndon's tune and gets lower performance. Is also not mod friendly as we all know, but members still buy it.
The same thing will happen once the other supporting tuner vendors have a chance to post their Dyno numbers with BTF turbo upgrade with the larger wheel.
Members will decide with their wallets who they will buy from.
I think people like to have choices and I am helping the forum with my plan.
I have PM Hahn Racecraft to see if his IC could be part of this plan as well.
Why, so people can have choices of IC's. In this case Dejon is lower $$$ and Hahn is higher than Dejon, which is the opposite from Lyndon's vs the other tuners.
I feel we need options, hope you and the rest of the membership understand my point of view.

I for one would like to get this BTF turbo wheel upgrade. I am running Westers race tune on my 07 Sky at the moment. I am only a couple hours from Tilley AB so I might be able to get the car into him for some hands on testing if need be. I'd prefer to wait until the end of the driving season here as I need to get some fall driving in first.
Lil Goat, I am interested to here what sort of revisions have been made in the race tune? What parameters have been modified do you know? Perhaps I should send the ECM in for the upgrade? If I understood the deal correctly, Wester's was to provide free upgrades to revisions on new tunes. (Shipping excluded) That is something that alone may justify the higher price of a Wester's tune.

I think it is up to first off BTF to decide who does his tune and second for the other tuners to decide if they want to offer a tune for the BTF product, these people are in business to make money. If BTF has chosen Westers to support his product, that is his choice. If an individual wants to get a tune somewhere else that is his choice as well. Anyone who makes his decisions with his pocket book, is bound to make poor choices, there are a lot more things to consider and I am not just talking about tunes. If the people here had followed that logic, they would never have bought a Solstice it is a totally impractical car.

By the way this thread was posted by a supporting vendor, to sell Westers tunes your comments are misplaced, start your own thread to discuss your idea.

So HP tuners is still pretty much useless when it comes to end user tuning? Why is it all of these supporting vendors can access boost and torque tables, but HPT, supposidly the big name in GM OBD2, can't touch it? I'm glad we have a lot of canned tune choices, but its really kind of embarassing on HPT's part.

I did read the "beta" thread too. It looks like Wester's is the premier and probably the way to go. It's just a shame I need HPT for my cavalier and can't use it on the GXP...

I use the HPT to load my tunes from Westers, beats the hell out of shipping to Canada, especially if you already have it. Wester just emails me the new tune, like he did last night and I use HPT to load it. I am sure HPT will catch up eventually. I also use it on my Denali, my sons GTO and GMC truck. The tools for performance monitoring in HPT work quite well on our cars.

I would not go that far ... if you peek under the covers you will find that some of the low cost tune offerings are only using the functions that are now available in HPTuners ... or so I have heard
