Not needed. This ECU is pretty damn complicated and full featured. Besides, none of the standalones can control direct injection yet.
thats what I'm saying, once AEM, Motec, and etc.....get the chance to have a stand alone for our engines.....then I think it's good to have a bigger turbo...to get the fullest potential of our engines.
I posted these dyno results for my friend who has a GXP with before and after results stock and with the BSR tune. His car is otherwise stock and he runs Sunoco 94 octane and will soon upgrade to a Dejon or Hahn intercooler. When we went to the dyno shop that day he "de-tuned" his car to the stock settings about a half mile down the road. As we drove closer to the shop his car was hitting 20 psi just after he went from the BSR tune to stock settings. I thought that was odd because any other time he returns to the stock settings he says it tops out at 18 psi.

We don't need a standalone for bigger turbo's with this ECU. BTF is already working on a GT4094R turbo kit..shooting for 800whp on the factory ECU. No standalones needed on this car. Hell, the factory ECU hasn't even been fully exploited yet LOL but tuners are unlocking more stuff as we speak.

Why you say we don't need stand alones?
I thought nobody has gone above 255kpa yet? everybody goes to limp mode.
But I do hope that BTF and other tuners unlock all these stuff from our ecm.
well 800 whp is a high number. I'm not sure how the internals will hold with that kind of power. But let's hope BTF will be successful ......

I think it really depends on a lot of factors. I know when I used to have the stock tune, and the weather is good and cold.....I know I saw the boost spiking to 17 psi.
even with my bsr tune, it usually tops at 21-22psi. But once in a while....I see it spiking to 23-24 psi.
they are using a gm mefi stand alone controller on a gm v6 di motor and was told it could work with a lnf motor also. I should of gone that route because i am having lots of problems getting my lnf (converted to port injection) to run with a megasquirt .
Lets try and stay on topic posting dyno graphs, I'm hoping this thread grows to be a good resource for comparable power numbers. Keep the heresay at bay or start another thread.
Thanks.

I have been chatting with Lyndon about dyno's in general and comparing them. I never knew there is actually a standard from the SAE for calibrating a Dyno, Dyno Dynamics and Superflow use this standard to calibrate there dyno's after installation, it is 20% below the more accepted numbers from a Dynojet Dyno. RPI has a Dyno Dynamics with 0%compensation and shows about 200 rwhp for a stock Red Line, Lyndon Wester has a Superflow and shows 202 for a stock GXP. This is just FYI and something to keep in mind when reading the graphs. If you post a graph, for me at least I want to know what type of Dyno and what compensation was used (you will have to ask) if any to adjust numbers to be comparable with Dynojet. My runs were on a Dyno Dynamics and there was a 9% compensation, it is adjustable by the operator, so it is possible my numbers are 11% low if compared to a run on a Dynojet, or a different dyno with more compensation.

Very true lil goat what Lyndon said, it is also very dependent on the operator settings.
A Dyno is what helps get the best performance from a custom tune.
The numbers could in some cases be misleading.
The proof is usually found with a good driver and track times.

Looks like Rick at BTF posted our result yesterday everywhere but the dyno section lol.
This guy was gt35r kit, stock exhaust, dejon ic, mild headwork. we had to shut her down early as were were getting some nasty compressor surge. Just a tease of whats to come....
