I just tried this tonight on my car. AND OMG! I was totally shocked! And I didn't adjusted it totally all out. But enought to make a world of difference. I felt like I got my lost acceration back after installing the CAI. Now I need to reset my ecu since my car is broken in by now. BUt yeah this is an awesome mod or adjustment mod.
I've been running this mod for about 500 miles. Boost after mod jumped from 16psi max to 21psi . Then over time it dropped back to 17psi max . It still came on sooner than stock. Reset ECU last night but it rained and didn't drive it yet. Still great free mod .

With my car, I have to keep beating on it. If it drops, I just make a couple of hard pulls and it comes back. I wonder if its due to heating of the turbine housing or cat rather than caused by the ECU. The fact that boost climbs so fast and high seems to indicate that the ECU doesn't react fast enough to stop it initially, then catches up when it sees air flow is too high. I suspect that it waits to control boost till then and its probably not doing closed loop control since it peaks again around 5000 and that peak is higher than before the mod.

My first dyno after the mod showed the up then way down and back up, I sent the sheet to Lyndon and he fix it somehow. Now my torque starts at 297 ft/lbs at about 2800 rpm and rolls off from there, HP make a nice smooth rise now. Lyndon told me the latest numbers he is seeing from the mod alone on a tuned car is about 15 rwhp. That is on a stock GXP except for his tune and the mod. He sees about 11 rwhp on a stock tune

just for those curious, i'm running both the wastegate rod adjustment and the EDAL mod with no ill effects. I agree with most others that the ECU does learn a bit and smooth things out. I no longer have spikes to 21, but rather +1 or 2 or so above normal in their peak spots. Now that weather is colder and the air is denser, my boost is continuing to go down a bit, i'm at a 14 average or so unless I give it a few WOT runs. Then the ECU opens up a bit and I get higher boost to around 17,18 or so, depending on the gear. I haven't been able to test it on a dyno, or near the top end of 4th gear, but I do remember on the dyno i'd briefly hit 20 lbs before the mod, i'd assume i'd be at around 21-22 at the same rpm point now in 4th.
The quicker spooling however hasn't left, and is a great thing
We found the turbo likes to be warm when it was on the dyno. I just ordered a turbo beanie (blanket), like on the Red Bull Solstice to keep it warm for the winter. I did a post on it, this is supposed to reduce turbo lag.
Yea yea, I know I find the weirdest stuff. It the black thing wrapped around the turbo.

Lyndon tried it on his test mule and liked the result. He sent me an email to try it. I did and I liked it. I sent it to Shabby and Dejon Dave and a few other select folks to try it and everyone liked it so after extensive testing and documentation I posted about it.

I have the same mods, and the dejon cai. And I have the same results as you did. But I am still impressed with the performance I am getting ever since I did this wastegate mod. It balanced out everything else. I do see 19 psi a lot though. But I also today ordered the Dejon BOV spring upgrade. I hope that helps as well.

"Hard Pulls" is the way I drive all of the time. The only concern is that with the extra boost (I reset my ECU a couple of times a week to keep up the improved perfromance) it might run lean and harm something. Although I haven't seen anyone reporting "lean Code" error on this or the other thread on this mod. Lean was a concern that my buddy that runs a S-charger on his Z06 Vette brought up. I also seam to see less soot on the rear of my Sol after the mod.

Been watching the Wideband O2 with the DashHawk since I did this and still running a near perfect 1.0 for the measured EQ ratio ... just like before the mod ...

I'm very curious, can you do a 3rd gear pull from 2000 to redline? what rpm do you get 23 psi at, and does it hold or drop down to 16 or so then build back up to what max around 5500
Dave
Dave, I was able to go out and play some this morning. With a third gear pull this morning, I did not hit 23 lbs. The best I saw was 22.2 (per my Dashhawk)
