Has anyone experienced limp mode with just this mod? I'm a totally stock '08 and just did the mod to the limit of the threads for the first time and now can pull 21psi (DIC) with each runup, but if I hold it at WOT for more than about 5 secs, the boost gets cut and then limited to 3psi until the engine is restarted. It's 65 degrees out. I might have to back off a bit.

that's interesting information
I was wondering if anyone who is bone stock but for this mod has a dashhawk 0-60 improvement
bone stock, stock tires I can get 5.11 seconds, stock tires
I wonder if I can get under 5 seconds with this mod
I would expect after a couple of runs, it will stop going into limp mode. It is the MAP Data that is causing limp mode. Dejon now has a MAP regulator that should keep gains from the wastegate mod from going away. It sets the map at 17 so the ECM does not "see" the higher boost and shut it down. I just ordered mine to go with my IAT 2 regulator, I am seeing boost of 23 lbs, but after 3 seconds in 4th I go into limp mode. I expect to see some serious gains on the dyno.

FWIW When set all the way to the end of the rod, my car throws a CEL that is related to Turbocharger control solenoid error. This was happened several times within 300 miles. I turned back some 6-8 mm from the end and the CELs have not returned.

Wasn't BTF getting some cels until he did the EDAL mod?

yes but for a very different reason. The port/hoses on a Tial 50MM is 10mm. It needs it to react quickly due to the volume of the BOV. the EDAL is simply too small a solenoid to do the job. Since it's mainly there to prevent surge on the small turbo I removed it from the loop. At least until I get a higher flowing EDAL solenoind.
I got the misfires to go away when I got the MAF table dialed in. no funkyness EDAL or not.
The IAT2 regulator will stop limp mode until you get to a higher threshold where you'll need the MAP-Reg also. If you install a Manual Boost Controller, you'll get a pretty flat boost vs rpm line, with out the dip from 3500 to 5000 and with some fall off at high RPM due to maxing out the factory turbo. But Boost will shoot up to the set point much faster than other cars, due I think to the electronic throttle control. With an MBC, you may want to consider our switch kit to improve driveability
At this stage even with the factory turbo, I really recommend you install a manual boost gauge when you install the MAP-reg so you know what boost you are running. And I think it's just plain DANGEROUS to not read your actual 02 via a dashawk or secondary Wideband O2 sensor such as the AEM UEGO we sell and then enrichen the Air/Fuel ratio some. I know there are differences of opinion on what WOT O2 should be, but better safe than sorry. Several of us have seen typically a 500rpm lag between commanded and actual O2.
If you have a BSR tune and mods beyond what they recommend, you may be beyond safe levels, I just don't know. But at least play it safe and read your 02's.

I've been turning some of these diagnostic codes off with HPTuners since I know the related device is not being used or cannot control the parameter.
I've probably thrown hundreds of error codes by now doing product development.

Well, now that the ECU has recognized this mod, I'm getting even less boost than before. Now I'm seeing 13-14psi (was 14-15 before mod and 18-20 when mod first performed).
Guess its time to invest in some of Daves ECU trickery

Well, it's been a week since the mod, and I'm still having to babysit peaking at WOT or I get limp mode everytime. Mine is still able to peak past 21psi (DIC) so, it seems my ECU is cuttin' class and not learnin' nuthin Thing I'll go another week before backing off a bit and find a happy median.
Must be nice!
Mine started to drop after about 4 days of driving (about 100 miles), it took about 2 weeks though for it to get to the current low (~500 miles).
No leaks and the rod is still in the same position (maxed out), so I can't think of anything else it could be.
I just ordered the MBC and IAT2-Reg, so we'll see how much that helps. Not looking to exceed 20psi (yet anyway), but I'd like to be able to get closer to it without the ecu kicking in.

Oops. Guess I spoke too soon The CEL popped on yesterday. Still able to get 19-20 indicated on DIC briefly, but it seems to take more effort to get it to use boost. Seems like it is running a slightly altered algorithm now the CEL is set.
If I back off on the adjustment now, is there anyway to clear the CEL using the DIC and button combinations? I don't have a code reader yet.
No you'll need a scan tool, or you can reset the ecu by either disconnecting the battery, or popping out the fuses in the block above the battery.
