On the passenger side use 2.5 inch internal diameter T-bolt clamps. On the driver side use 2.75 inch internal diameter T-bolt clamps. Both connectors to the stock intercooler are also 2.5 inch.

Lots of threads on this if you search using "T-bolt" for keyword.

are you talking clamp size or hose id ? i need to know the hose id on the turbo pressure side so i can buy a new coupler.

thanks

Yes, I meant internal diameter or ID, but you have to make sure you have the right figure for if you are talking ID or "clamping range." For example, if you want to use the spring-loaded T-bolt clamps as are stock on the couplings on "the turbo pressure" side, then looking at the link below I think you could get away with ordering 022581 for both sides since it will handle both the 2 3/4 clamping size for the one side and the approx 3 inch clamping side for the other.

You need a 2 3/8 coupler for the stock intercooler, a 2.5" is too big.

Shabby,

How about this. I had forgot about siliconintakes.com. Does this hose (1) look good for the passenger side? And do the couplers (2) look right for that same side? They have 2.75 couplers for the other side. Looks good to me.

1. 2.5" Silicone 2' Straight Hose, Black
[SIL000042]

This is a two-foot long piece of silicone hose. It can be used as a straight section of intake or cut to any length.

Applications:

Joining your intake pipe to the throttle body assembly, air metering assembly, intercooler, BOV pipe, or turbo inlet/outlet.

Custom compressor, intercooler or inlet piping for turbo/supercharged car

Custom cold air intake for nonturbo car

Replacement of all factory rubber parts

These silicone parts can be used in trucks, recreational vehicles, boats, or anything else with an engine.

Cut into 8 3" sections for regular-sized couplers

Please note the following when you order silicone parts online. Some vendors have started counting the layers of silicone instead of the layers of reinforcement when talking about the ply. For example, a 3-ply reducer has four layers of silicone plus three layers of reinforcement fabric. Some vendors might incorrectly call this a 4-ply reducer because of the four layers of silicone. All of our silicone parts are now of Genuine 4-Ply construction - that's 5 layers of silicone plus 4 layers of reinforcement for 9 total layers!

Genuine 4-ply Silicone (5 silicone layers plus 4 reinforcement layers = 9 total layers!)
Installer can cut silicone parts down to fit with a razor
Heat tolerance: -40° to 392° Fahrenheit
Burst Pressure: 200 PSI
Working Pressure: 50 PSI
Wall Size: 4 mm - 5 mm

PRICE: $39.99
2. T-Bolt Clamp for 2.5" Silicone Parts
[CLA000102]

These Stainless Steel T-Bolt Clamps are perfect for high pressure/high heat intake or exhaust pipe coupling.

Unlike some other t-bolt clamps available, these are not marked with any company logo. The only marking is a small, convenient number telling you the clamping ability (in MM). The measurement system we use is designed for 3 or 4-ply silicone coupling.

Actual clamping ability is 2.60" to 2.91".

Again 2.5" is too big, when i got my dejon ic a while ago it came with 2.5" piping, i used the included 2.5" couplers and they were too big for the stock ic pipes. Of course i still installed it with the bigger couplers, then when i took for a spin the boost was leaking like crazy.

Agree this ought to be easier. Well, I bought my Dejon IC pipes second hand and the Gent I bought them from had bought Vibrant brand couplings, not from Dejon it seems. In apparent frustration with trying to remove the passenger side pipe because it was rubbing the hood, he used a knife to cut off the coupling. I am now holding the coupling which he sent for reference and it does indeed measure a shade under 2.5 inches (looks like 2 3/8 ID and 2 3/4 outside diameter) but, when I played with the idea of trying to use it until I could receive a new coupling, I tested in on the engine coupling (in the picture above) and the Dejon piping and it looked like it would be very difficult to squeeze it on. I had thought after checking a number of websites, including verociousmotorsports.com, where a lot of people have said they picked up couplings and T-bolt clamps, that the sizes went up by quarter inch sizes from 2 to 2.25 to 2.5 to 2.75 to 3 and so on, but when I googled 2-3/8 I did find some. I had thought maybe pipes were made a smidgen small to esure a tight fit.

I think the 2.5 inch ID coupling is correct, you just gotta clamp that thing down hard with any number size clamps, as long as the clamping range of the style chosen fits the pipe in question. Stock clamps for the position in your picture skotty, were those spring loaded, heavy duty versions. I found them on Amazon for goodness sake for about $23 so if you don't have them already, I would find two of those for at least that particular coupling.

I may give Dejon Dave a call before I commit on my purchase. Full disclosure: I'm still running the stock pipe on that side. As Forrest said, "that's all I have to say about that." Good luck Skotty!

2.5" is the closest we found. 2.25" is too small and our supplier does not carry 2 3/8"

BTW the most common problem is clamping over the barb at the end. You must clamp behind the barb so that the hose is depressed in the wide groove. If you clamp on the barb, it will just pull off under boost.

I found that if i used a bit of silicon spray on the clamps they clinched much better and even. If you notice the stock ones have a pinch collar that spreads the load as they tighten. my Tbolts i found at a Boat supply house here, but i noticed that as they tighten they seem to get tight at T first and the leaks were in the back. The use of a very small amount of silicon spray allowed it to pull from Back of the T to the front.

2cents
