The ECM does not store mileage.(Only in the event of a DTC set since last
error--hours or miles).
Per Lyndon
Mileage is stored in the IPC.
However...GM can tell if this (and others since 2006) ECM has been rewritten
or not. They've implemented new code in a couple latest releases to combat
all the people who wreck stuff--and want warranty. They can now tell if the
calibration is original or not by looking at CVN's or Checksums.
Companies like "BullyDog" and "SuperChips" have totally ruined things for
the rest of us...BullyDog being the biggest offender.
They're also counting 'reflashes' -- so even if someone buys HPT and keeps
reflashing their ECM, the counter will indicate 'reflashes'. This is kinda
bad, considering that if there's only one calibration for a vehicle, and
they see 10-15 flashes, the eyebrows are raised immediately.
