If I went with this deal, would I have to get the factory tune from my ecm and send it to you? Does the ecm store the cars mileage in the ecm? and would the onstar diagnostics be able to tell that I swapped ecm's?

I'm checking with Lyndon on this, will reply ASAP

His tunes do not come with downloading software. You must have HPT VCM or find someone who does and will download your factory tune and upload the new for you.

This isn't in my best interests, but a local group of owners can purchase HPT VCM and share it to download everyone's factory tune and upload Wester's tunes for each vehicle, since you get enough credits with the purchase to buy a complete 07 GXP or Redline year. I'll offer this downlod/upload service free to any customer of mine who drives to my shop. I can't expect that Lyndon will email the new tune back the same day though, so it may take you 2 trips.

The ECM does not store mileage.(Only in the event of a DTC set since last
error--hours or miles).

Per Lyndon

Mileage is stored in the IPC.

However...GM can tell if this (and others since 2006) ECM has been rewritten
or not. They've implemented new code in a couple latest releases to combat
all the people who wreck stuff--and want warranty. They can now tell if the
calibration is original or not by looking at CVN's or Checksums.

Companies like "BullyDog" and "SuperChips" have totally ruined things for
the rest of us...BullyDog being the biggest offender.

They're also counting 'reflashes' -- so even if someone buys HPT and keeps
reflashing their ECM, the counter will indicate 'reflashes'. This is kinda
bad, considering that if there's only one calibration for a vehicle, and
they see 10-15 flashes, the eyebrows are raised immediately.

So if I go the new ECM route I can just pop in the old one anytime the car needs to go in for service?

Good question, this is something that I've been wondering as well.

I've been wanting a Westers Tune for quite a while, can't wait until it's available for the 08's.

Yeah, that's what I did. I have my stock ecm with the stock tune and I bought a new ecm and got the Wester's tune on it. Once you do the security relearn on the new one you can swap them back and forth.

I believe he got his at gmparts direct.com. Last I knew they were $280 + $60 shipping. Takes 2 weeks. For an '07 Solstice GXP? If so the part # to order is 12605038 It will show as a module nothing more.

Sounds like you can order it through Dejon/Wester's or get one from GMPartsDirect.

I hope I can keep up with demand. I've had 2 on order for a week and will get them to Wester's ASAP. I had one at Westers and it sold today.
