Fair enough. I think MBRP decided on mutiple systems to appeal to different people. A more typical system is available, or will be. Steve posted pictures of it earlier.

I personally believe it to be the most refined system available.

You never know, if the few guys in this thread have it their way, a side exit could be the next option. I still think an SLR type system would be utra cool.

I just don't like the mufflers. I think they look cheap and cheezy in a PepBoy's/riced our Honda sort of way. If you like them that's all that matters. I'm just stating my opinion (which was asked for in the title).

I would like a side exhaust that's executed properly. In fact, I would like to do one on my own car and have thought about ways to do it.

I took no offence at all. I appreciate that you elaborated.

I went to an S2000 event recently. It seems the latest and greatest drift look is very much like my system, but more so. Huge cans, and 5 inch tips are on all the top cars. When I view my system, I see a tasteful representation of the latest automotive fashions. When viewed on the road, the CF and tips are not entirely in your face. You must look to see it. It's more of a detail only noticed if you look closer. If seen in person and up close, I assure you, it doesn't look cheap. It's got the best finish of all the systems available. The whole intent of the pictures is to feature the exhaust. When I get a chance to take some new shots, I'll be using the car as the focal point and not the stainless.

I see this as a perfect system for those with more aggresive taste when it comes to apearance. I expect this system to fit just right on a car with a bdy kit and such. I expect it t look fantastic combined with one of Norm's diffusers.

Anyway, I'm not trying to win anyone over. Just talking about what I see in it.

Lets see what he has to say, if his skirts can give us some room to hide say 2.25" or 2.50" tubing then we could look at doing a viper style set up if enough guys were interested.

Any one doing this would then also ge t a new rear facia off Norm on without any exhaust cut out in it as well.

Thanks

i think you mean to say 3". go big or go home

its only should be 3in from the downpipe to the Y then they could make it 2.5 with 3in tips. i was talking about 3in tips and something that can handle when people start building there motors and start putting GT35r turbos on them. think big about this 4 banger

SrtRich our new DP is 3" so we're good there. I just mentioned the smaller sizes as a reference as there is likely no room for anything large without it dragging on the ground. We do bend up to 5" dia tubing here in house so the sky is the limit.

2.25 would be sufficient for even the more adventurous. I think dual 2.5 would match a 4 inch single in flow. Tips to suit the car of course. 3 inch would be perfect.

I do love my system as is though. I'm not sure that I'd trade it for anything out there.

i will just say that 2.25 is def not enough. my opinion comes from other experiance with turbo cars. when your over 330 hp that small 2.25 it just stealing power and making the turbo work harder, a lot harder. i personaly would like a 3in because i think more people on this forum should have 400hp daily driver GXPs i do like your new thread with your new tips. makes them look a hell of a lot nicer nice job guys now start making more stuff lol

I just reread my post you quoted. I did mean 3 to dual 2.25.

It's my understanding that MBRP tried the 3" to dual 2.5" and ended up with a bad lower curve. The 3"to dual 2.25 helped the low end and kept the top up. It's also my understanding that they tried the silencers on the dyno with no change in the curve. These in fact reduce the exit diameter of the mufflers.

My expectation and I believe MBRP's goal was for a system that helped me in stock trim but would flow nicely for a few bolt on's and a tune. Hopefully a warranted GM one. I suspect that most Kappa modders won't be going any higher than that. That being said, a huge system wouldn't be all that marketable. Only because there are not that many willling to go really big on the car and if they do, they likely have fab skills or a big pocket book. Either way, MBRP would likely never recover the costs of development marketing to such a small number of people. Of which I wish I was one. I did in fact suggest that MBRP contact a few of the big turbo vendors. I believe, the only hope for a huge bolt on system would be a collaboration.

I have lusted over the GM racing parts for some time. If I win the lottery, I'll be all over those parts. MBRP would be the place that I would go to get the heat out. I'd be happy to ante up for the development costs.
