Hi,

AEM is looking to borrow a Solstice for intake development. If we use your car, you will receive a free intake. The development vehicle must be near Los Angeles and will be needed for two weeks. A rental car can be arranged, if needed. If you are interested or have more questions, please contact Damon at DRiggs@aempower.com

All customer vehicles are treated with the utmost care and respect.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Hmmmmm....let's see....give up your car for two weeks for a free intake. If I lived next door the answer would be NO! Best of luck finding a taker for this deal!

Yeah, 2 weeks is asking a bit much, 2 days might be more like it.

I hope someone jumps in on this. AEM intakes usually see above average gains for intakes. I don't have a Sol or I'd volunteer in a heartbeat.

I dont think two weeks is bad at all considering that this is AEM and not some knock off company. They dont just built it to fit. THey build intakes to make more power than the other guys.
I would love to be able to have them use my car for this purpose if I lived closer.
It would be nice bragging rights I think. I had an AEM intake on my last car and I will purchase another one from them as soon as they make one for us.

Will this be the V2? I was just looking at that yesterday and complaining to myself because it is not yet available for the Solstice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Won't be in time for me, but great for those who wait. I need my CAI soon.

Thanks for the support. As ESB said, we do take a little longer due tho the fact that we tune the inatke systems to make the most power possible. It's more than just a filter on a stick

As for the warranty concerns, please read this:

http://www.sema.org/main/semaorghome.aspx?ID=50096

Thanks again, I have not yet confirmed a loaner Solstice yet, so if you are interested, please email me: DRiggs@aempower.com

I've had plenty of experience in the past few years with "claimed" gains vs "Actual" gains.

MANY companies report their gains from a dyno. Many companies do not report at which point of the dyno those gains occur. After research and trials, we found that the gains are pre throttle lift at the end of a dyno where there's a tendancy to blip upwards. This is fairly common practice and not against any advertising rules whatsoever, so long as it's replicatable.

And remember, your altitude vs testing area's altitude will have a negative/positive affect.

I've seen a company based in Colorado, do an independant test of a CAI who's comapny is based in Oregon, come about with better results. But the same product tested in SoCal resulted in fair results, not as good as advertised by either company.

And again, 2 weeks seems a bit long for a CAI.
Headers/Exhaust AND CAI ... Reasonable.

So what your saying here is that I should also factor in my driving habits and that this amount of time is a bit long for installation? I know that the dealer where I purchased my baby said they could install an intake and exhaust and it would be done in a day maybe 2 and I would assume that since this is the dealer it would not mess with the warrenty

All I know is that there was a 12-15whp gain with the old Nissan SE-R's (91-94) with an AEM over bone stock (my car did 12whp) on various independent dynojet dyno's from actual customers. A search will find similiar results for other cars. YMMV but these guys aren't some fly by night company with over inflated gains.
