I am wondering about the sound between 3000 and 4000 rpm. Mine sounds a bit like a rice burner at those RPM's. I am pretty sure I don't have a leak at the header to cat junction. I just checked it today and it was fine. So I am not too sure what's going on.

If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

I have the Clear Image high flow cat and long tube header and had the same issue.
I then tried to add the KS1 exhaust. This helped a little but still the raspy sound between 2000-3000. I then added a resonator, once again helped a little but still there. Found it odd that sfter driving for quite a few hours the rasp would almost go away. Still not happy, I got the SOLO Mach installed in Vegas. YEP YEP that is what I needed!! Rasp gone and a deeper tone. Thank You SOLO!!!

Cool, thanks for the info. I guess I know where my cat back is coming from. It's a really annoying sound isn't it?

I think any high flow cat you go with will give a p0420 error code without the ECU tune. I might be wrong on that, but that's what I've come to understand.

I went with grade 8 bolts right when I put it on. Don't get me wrong, the bolts they send are okay. But I am just paranoid.

You might want to consider a Remflex or graphite type gasket to fix your leaks. I have had very good luck with them, and it might help you out as well.

I wasn't knocking the Werks high flow cat at all. I've been very impressed with the performance gain, and I couldn't imagine going back to stock. I think the noise is more due to the fact that more air is being allowed to go through the cat than was allowed with the stock setup.

Nighttamer had the same issue with his Clear Image high flow cat.

I don't regret my purchase at all.

You are correct. I had no problem with the Clear Image cat or the header. My problem was the droan or tinny sound caused by the amount of flow. I think that the exhaust was not able to handle the larger amount of flow correctly. Again the Solo exhaust seems to handle it due to the tinny sound being gone. Again the tone is great and I have not felt no power loss.
