I want to put in Kappasphere's Cold Air Intake, want to know if there's significant HP increase to those of you who have installed them and how much. Does your engine sound different as well? Once purchases who do I take it to to install it? Your thoughts and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.

You probably won't notice much of a difference in power. But if the stock intake is restrictive, you could get better gas mileage. And if you plan on modding more, an intake is a def.
Significant might not be the best word, there will be an increase, about 10hp from the dyno graphs floating around.... will you notice it ? Well that depends on you, how you drive, how sensitive you are to that kinda of a change..... since it's less than a 10% alot of people might not notice during daily driving at all..... but it also increases torque across the whole rpm range which most people will notice at least a little.... if you plan on driving kind of aggressive sometimes then yes you will probably notice a change, though probably not what most would call significant.

I feel the difference, a friend of mine and I "benchmarked" it before and after and the results showed a big difference in 3rd gear.
The engine is best described as having the engine go through puberty, the engine note is much deeper. It took a friend and myself a hour to install, but that's because we had to head out to Home Depot to pick up a set of Torx screw drivers. It's really easy, the instructions are pretty clear as well.

Do you void any warranties by installing this to your engine. Thinking of heading to Kappasphere location. They are not too far from me and have them do it. Thanks for all your responses.

No it will not void your warranty, Unless the dealership can "prove" that what you did caused the problem....

It is the most "Bang for Your Buck" as far as I'm concerned for HP and Torque. About 10 HP for $300. The sound is the most noticeable thing about the CAI and that is a good thing. I installed mine in about 30 minutes (I had the Torx bit). I traveled about 200 miles with the car in cruise at about 68 MPH and was getting 30.1 MPG with the top UP. After I hit the Interstate and upped the speed to 80 the MPH went down to 29.3 which is very good. If you go to KappaSphere tell Neil or Shinoo to give you a ride if its not being modified more.

Does anyone know how much horsepower is gained by the combination of the cold air intake and the cat-back exhaust?
What about the above combination plus a chip of some kind? I know I'd notice a 10hp increase, but a 20+ hp increase would be even better.
The reason I'm asking is, I'm still mulling over whether I want a regular Solstice, or a GXP... I like the base body style much better, and if I could get the output of the base engine up near 200hp, I'd rather do without the extra complexity of a turbo.
It's 9 HP with just the CAI, 10HP with both. After you take it to a tuning shop (the software should be available in a month or less according to my source) you could see another 10HP easy based on the what we've found out so far.

I have bought both the CAI and the Exhaust from Kappasphere .... my Sol is supposed to be delivered today .... then I plan on putting on all my goodies and putting some miles on this weekend.

I've been considering the CAI as well. This is likely a very ignorant question but is that hp at the wheels? Does that translate into a faster 0-60 (tenths of a second) or 30-60 time? Curious.

Yes, that is Hp to the wheels. As far as 0-60 times it should help due to the gain in torque to. 30-60 times will definitely be better.
