Well I don't have pics to post, but decided that since I've been driving like a grandma for the first 1,000 miles, it was time to let the little girl breathe a little

and start pushing the revs up.
Thanks to all the folks out there who posted pics, etc. on working up a "stock modification" for a DIY CAI.
First - Pulled out the front resonator, cut off the whole darn thing from the filter box forward and chopped out about a 10" x 3" rectangle on the front of the filter box (leaving about 3/4" along the top for the front clamp.
Second - Removed the side resonator and plugged the hole with 2" off of a rubber mallet (only slightly used, Make sure to clean it up first!). (This was the best piece of advice yet!) The mallet end fit perfect, was slightly cone shaped to help seal the hole and I was able to clamp down the hose clamp fairly tight because of the strength of the solid mallet piece so I know it's sealed.
Third will be a K&N filter (already ordered) to fit the stock box ($38.95) (Hopefully by weeks end!)
Total price of the DIY CAI - $38.95 for the filter + 1/2 of a slightly used rubber mallet I had sitting in the garage (which is still useable on the opposite end)
I reset the ECM (at least I think I did

) Not being totally mechanically inclined (and running out of time) I just pulled the fuse's for the ECM (#42 +) and let it sit for about an hour. Not sure if that did it or not, but . . . .
Combination of doing all 3 things has really changed the personality of the Car. There is a definate throaty growl under the hood, much more responsiveness to the pedal, and much quicker off the line, etc.
Still haven't taken her above 4500rpm's (don't plan on doing that till after another 1,000 miles or so and some synthetic oil) but huge difference in the low range, more power, etc. Obviously haven't dyno'd but she "feels" much sweeter!!
And total cost to get this feeling was $0 + 1 slightly used rubber mallet!
I'll update after I install the K&N to see if that makes a difference as well.
