Well Mako had a big day today, I changed out her exhaust from front to back today with the following:
Shorty Headers - ClearImage
Hi-flow Cat - ClearImage
Cat Back Exhaust from Magnaflow (#16646)
While I am not one to do a lot of work on a car I was inspired and with the exception of one or two bolts that really didn’t want to break loose this was a relatively simple project.
I will admit, I am somewhat concerned about the increase in volume overall although it sounds great it just might be a tad louder then I bargained for, but I will give it chance and see how I care for it. I was pretty tired and grungy when the job was done so I only went for a short drive but I could indeed feel the difference.
Thanks to all on this forum who provide so much information that even a desk job guy like me who has never attempted such a task like this before is crazy enough to believe I can pull it off without a trained mechanic ....
So now for the images - I will get a sound clip this week and post it but for now the photo journal.
Side by side the OEM and the Magnaflow
Another angle of the side by side - I was amazed and the size and weight difference
The Shorty and the hi-flow cat
Manifold and OEM cat out and compartment clear for the new parts.
Shorty and Hi-FLOW cat in place
The exhaust run and lift set up for the job
Last but not least the new exhaust tip....come to think if it I need to polish that.

Ripple - can you update us on your thoughts about your new system?
I'm considering almost the same setup and would appreciate any sound bites - review of performance - drone? - etc. etc. etc.
Thanks!!!!

Actually it has been somewhat rainy here in the "sunshine state" so I havent had the chance to really take her out - well I could in the rain, but I perfer not too. Based on the weather forcasts its looking like I will take her to work on Friday and get the sound bites then (nothing like driving with the camcorder riding shotgun ) so I would think I will get something posting by the weekend - sorry about the wait.

I did disconnect the negative while I was doing the work so ECM should be reset and ready to go, with the CAI, Vector Retune, and now the free flowing exhaust I should have an overall nice performance gain.
One other thing I forgot to mention - in the course of the day doing the work I noticed a screw in my right rear tire, the darn thing when in virtual horizontal to the surface so I need to get that addressed to. I dont think it made it through at all since air pressure is right where it should be but its annoying just the same.

The wife is out shopping so I did some quick capture - its not much to look at but you dont care do you!
I took a quick run around the block never made it past third gear but it gives you a sense of the sound - sorry about the lens cap sound flapping around, next time I will secure it.

Beautiful work Ripple!! Thanks for sharing both pics and sound!
I'm looking for a little info on the exhaust tips. Better, worse or the same? Do they look like the stock ones? It appears so from the picture. Possibly bigger? How about the fit in the hole? You said you needed to polish them. Do you think that they will be/are as shiny as the stock?
