It will not screw up the car when you install the cams as the only cams available for the 2.4L right now are all regrinds of existing stock cams. WE have been running a set of cams in Randy's 2.4L now for an extended period of time that was custom ground for us and have had no issues. There are a couple tools that do make it much easier to change the cams in the car, and I would suggest you get a hold of them if possible, otherwise it is going to be tricky to hold the timing chain, cam gears and everything else in position while swapping the cams in the motor. Also I would strongly suggest taking a look at the workshop manual before doing the swap, as you also need to pull the timing chain tensioner, reset it and re-engage it when doing the cam swap.
