I know its probably explained somewhere on here but how the no lift shift thing work? I think its a tune, not sure, that allows you to shift without using the clutch, i think? Last time I checked if you have a manual u cant go into gear without the clutch or weird low speed circustances, so can anyone explain this to me, im baffled lol....

It basically just controls the RPM while you have the clutch in and are in the process of shifting. The "No-Lift" means you don't have to lift off the gas while shifting. I think they're supposed to be putting this in as a new feature on cobalts using the LNF motor, but not sure if you can do it with the Sol using a tune...

The new tune and sensors from GM allow you to do this, but only in a specific RPM range, I delive it is from 6200-6500 RPM

It works well, but it is hard to break the habbit of lifting off the gas when you shift! Very unnatural. It breaks my rhythem. I got to where I was doing this in my 1995 Camaro when I was heavy into drag racing, and it took time to "change" that rhythem so I know it is the same here. It is clear that this will improve your 1/4 mile times, and is a very VERY cool factory feature that shows GM has real car guys in there somewhere.

The thing that everyone forgets about is that it also keeps your boost up instead of opening the waste gate wide open between shifts. Or am I misinformed?

I think more people would be interested in no-clutch-upshifting...
And that's just a technique of running the RPM's a little past some shift point, then letting the RPM's fall back to the shift point, and shifting without the clutch as the RPM's fall.
yeah i could imagine how unnatural it feels to do this and i could also imagine how much faster you can run and how much it'll reduce the lag between shifts.

That is correct. Boost will be constant so it won't be full boost, 0 psi (shifting / venting to atmosphere), and then back to full boost.

I have been playing with the NLS for quite a while. Lately I have been doing a part throttle no lift shift. It works really cool. Just take off with about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and push in the clutch around 4k rpm without lifting off the gas. The rpm goes to about 4500 and sits there while you shift. Great for scooting around town and a nice loud chirp from the tires..

That is nutz. Im sitting here thinking that that would feel soooooo weird lol.
Im gonna be scared about not taking my foot off the gas haha
So do the RPM's stay at the RPM in which you shifted out of gear at?
