The F body muffler use on these cars is what has been battered around with other manufacturers, you know who I am talking about.

I want real dual exhaust... not for any possible performance gain, but just simply because I like the look. My 1991 MR2 had duals and the car looked pretty nice. IMHO
You cant have "real" dual exhaust, you have a 4 banger. Most 4 banger dual exhaust is just a single in and dual outlet muffler

I understand. It was pointed out to me that the people up north would have a big problem with the fake tip. Everyone could see the vapor coming out of the real one and nothing from the fake one. That is not acceptable.
Would not be noticed in Houston, of course.
EDIT NOTE: It was SolWhat? who pointed that out to me. I couldn't remember who until I read Post #27 below. Thanks, SolWhat?.

F-bodies do not have a dual exhaust but they do have a dual exit.
Honestly I don't know who you are talking about ar far as what other manufacturers are doing.
At MagnaFlow we are not using a muffler designed for a 300-350 RWHP V8 in a 140-160 RWHP I4. The external design is similar but as I have always said the internals will in fact be different and engineered for the output and performance of the vehicle it is applied to.
Here is an example of what to expect ...
Current Single in dual out design as in the F-body:
This is the new design for the Solstice .. or at least this is "close" to what to expect:

Not a big problem in the summer, but it would look a little silly in the winter, what with all that vapor coming out of only one side.

I never said dual exhaust, I have always said dual outlets or exists, and the reason I mentioned the F body's was to point to the type of exhaust that uses a single coming in, and dual outlets coming out.
This is the design we have been requesting from you all (aftermarket) from the very begining, so hopefully we will see this coming out sometime 1st quarter of 2006.

I guess, but whats the point? On a 4 banger especially you want some backpressure or you will have no torque. Just not worth the time or $$ imo. Just do what magnaflow is doing with a single in dual out muffler.
There isn't enough room to run two pipes in the tunnel. On other four bangers it oulc be done.

I wasn't specifically thinking of the Sol when I made that statement. Thinking more along the lines of some of the Healeys/Jags from the late 50's and 60's that had dual pipes from the engine compartment all the way to the rear.
Never mind!!
For the Sol, I'll entertain the one inlet, dual outlet idea. When can I order one?
