Ok guys I am just trying to make my mind up here. I am very happy with the mods I have right now. Check my sig if you don't know. I was going to tie it all up with a tune. Now I am wondering how much louder is the hi-flow cat? My car is not much louder than stock with what I have. Of course this is not an immediate purchase here since I am addicted to that WR screen that I saw on ihawk95 so that will be my next mod more than likely. I am just trying to get an idea on the sound. Internet clips never do it justice.

I have the HF cat by SOLO and it makes the car about 10-15% louder. I have an intake and the SOLO RCD-II exhaust system with the MACH shorty muffler and it got about 15% louder with the HF cat by SOLO. With your setup, I would think a bit closer to 10% louder. The intercooler and tune I have also changed the sound of the exhaust...it got lower/deeper and maybe 5% louder. The power gains are very nice, though, and well worth the money, especially if you couple it with a tune.

Okay guys, please help me out here. The final touch to my exhaust is going to be a high-flow cat. I have the entire Dejon package with intercooler, pipes, CAI, and BOV spring, along with a Flowmaster 40 muffler swap. Would a high-flow cat be a nice addition? If so which one should I get? Thank you for any ideas you can send my way.

It would be a nice addition. Get the SOLO HF cat. You get a nice performance gain and the exhaust will get about 10% louder. You can't go wrong with SOLO and they have amazing customer service. I have it and I love it.

Thanks spiky I just might have to go this way. At around 10% louder it means you can still hold a conversation in the car. I did not know that a tune could change the tone. Wow thats new to me!

Yea since the tune changes the timing advance, it deepens the tone by a small amount. The intercooler also deepens it. The HF cat makes it louder. The combination makes it sound more like a big V6 or smaller V8, closer to a biogger V6.

Wish I had the GXP or a S/C so that I can have the intercooler.

i have installed the whole shebang from the header to the SQR2 exhaust and high Cat. I love the sound especially when you get in between a couple of buildings downtown and light her up. It will be interesting as i sent my ECM to Westers yesterday to see the performance and sound i should get with the retune.

That's when I go "damm this things is loud" . Underpasses are cool too .

SS, the cat made mine significantly louder. It's not bad, but I sure as heck wouldn't want it any louder. I would be surprised if you didn't experience a healthy difference.

I had the Vector tune while my car was still an na car. I don't remember any difference in the sound of the car, just performance and driveability. If I hadn't gone SC a couple of months later, this would have been a very good investment.

Not sure were all comparing apples to apples here as some guys have GXP's, some guys have different cat backs etc.
