Hey fellow Sol'legues, I decided to go get my Solstice Dynoed just morning and want to share my results. Not stated but, I'm getting a lil over 190 at the fly wheel. Tech says i'm running a lil rich but if i can get someone to adjust my mixture using my ECU I should get around 200hp on the F/W & maybe around 173 at the R/W. Anyway i'm happy with the Sol's performance. He said with a Turbo at 10 psi i should be around 300hp. (Subaru WRX STi killer I really don't know what most of these colorful lines mean but i'm sure most of you do. Oh, don't forget i am equiped with GMPP Intake & Cat back. Feel free to comment. Oh yeah, Miata MX-what! IN LUV with #1928

Interesting! IF I read correctly, you are 13hp over the advertised 177hp? Did you get a rwhp number, I don't think I saw that, just a proposed possiblity of one.

Are you stock, or have mods maybe?

Thanks!

Too bad you did not get it Dynoed before you had the GMPP parts installed. If we assume that the car was on par with the other cars that have been dynoed, it would look like you added a peak 20 HP RW. That assumes that all the dynos would read the same which is why this is an estimate and not calculated results. But never the less, very impressive!

sweet! Fortimer mentioned a 20hp gain, do we have a stock sol dyno'd to draw that conclusion. or where did that number come from.

How much did the two performane mode cost?

Sounds nice. Go race some cars and tell us how you do

Good post ...

One thing to remember is that this infact is a axle dyno and does not take into consideration losses incurred with heavier wheels/tires and different rolling daimeters and contact patch. It also looks as if the dyno was running is inertia mode ... I don't see any load values plugged in or really even if GM has published the power@50 numbers yet for the Sol.

Here is some good reading on this type of dyno: http://www.dynapack.com/dynapack.html

The DynaPack is a good tuning tool and shows excellent repeatability BUT because of its "wheels off" interface make its number hard to compare to any other dyno ... As I have show in another post the wheel and tire weight along can attribute to substantial chages in measured HP.

Here is the thread to entertain more details regarding just how much power is lost in wheels and tires:
How much power do 20" wheels rob ... dyno inside

Now if that much is lost with adding 10-15 lbs / wheel .. imagine how much is gained but removing 45-55 lbs of wheel and tire ... Just something to think about...

Again .. congradulations on the dynos, I just wanted to put somethings into perspective for those who may not be as dyno literate.

A power adder will wake up this platform for sure ... 250-300 rwhp would be FUN if not completely thrilling.

If you want to ... I have a full dyno facility I am willing to offer up at no cost to provide the Solstice comunity with comparitive values on my DynoJet 248C which is a more common place dyno. Complimentry free tour of the MagnaFlow facilites if you are intersted at all as well.

Just a thought ...

that is a pretty good reading. I think if your get headers put in you should make over 200flywheel HP. I didnt think just an intake and catback would give you 13hp. That is nuts. what size rims are those to ? if they are over the 18inch stock rims. You lost some HP there.
