The HP at the flywheel with what he did is about right, the original RWHP for the stock Solstice from 4 different Solstice is from 143HP to 149HP, so the more acurate RWHP on his car would be somewhere in the neighborhood of 152HP to 158HP.

DynaPacks don't measure FWHP ... they still take in consideration clutch mass, tranmission/gear parasitics, driveline loss, rear gear ratio loss ... It just makes it hard to compare to anything else because most other have the rear tire and wheel mass along with final drive ratio (diameter)
You had mentioned that someone told you that you could put 10psi of Boost on the car to add another 100 or so HP.... Do you plan on rebuilding the Motor, because I have been told by my techie that the Ecotec motor has a very high compresing ratio and that the most you can boost the motor stock with out damage is 6psi. Has anyone heard different???

Is it just me or does the HP graph look like a car without variable valve timing? It isn't the two humped camel climbing a hill Honda's look like. Hardly any dips.
On a four cylinder engine, to get a 10% increase (17.7 HP) from just an intake and cat back would mean there was something wrong with the stock design or the manufacturer was low balling the HP numbers. I doubt either's the case. Looks like dyno differences.
By the way, several people have reported an Ecotec seems to loosen up more than other cars. About how many miles do you have on the car?
I know what you mean about wondering if a new exhaust is any faster. It's hard to eliminate that joyous "sounds faster factor". One test of improved engine efficiency, did you see an increase in gas mileage after the mods?
Yeah it loosened up tremendously. I have about 4600miles on the car. I didn't really see to much in the increase in gas mileage, But i think it's me. I'm constantly on the gas to hear my own exhaust, it sounds so beautiful.

Someone mentioned they Dynoed a stock Sol about a month ago and got 135hp at the R/W if not mistakened. Oh Cool air Intake $378.00 if i can remember Catback $638.00 All are GMPP.
I have a feeling my engine was too green and that's why I ended up with a low number. I don't have any plans to try again until I get some money together for either the CAI or catback though.
Here are the images in a direction us normal mortals can read.
Going to get mine dynod at 3000k miles instead of the 1k like I planned since it seems the engine really doesn't give it's best numbers till after 2500 miles at least.

LOL ... I could not help but to tip my head to read those charts! haha THANKS :P
I've never seen a dyno graph before. Can someone give a quick lesson on how to read them and what they are showing? Thanks!

Sure, I can try and explain what you're looking at. Usually the dyno graphs show rpm's (rotations/revolution per minute) along the bottom axis (x-axis). Along the vertical axis (y-axis), either torque (ft-lbs) or horsepower will be shown. Now the line that is plotted represents a specific horsepower or torque values at corresponding rpm's. This plot is very helpful because one can see where there are power losses and gains. One can then tune to add power where it is desired. Hope this helps.
salstice,
Thanks for the explaination. I've read about the dyno tests on the Forum but didn't know how they worked. Thanks again.
