2 of our supporting vendors have exhausts currentely on their web sites one is a muffler only for 549.00 and the other is a complete cat back for 550.00 and with available dyno charts. Sound clips for both are enticing and good but for my money the complete cat back looks like the better choice, What do ya'll think ? Yhea I know I didn't mention the GM performance Exhaust but thats 100 bucks more too.

I'd go for the catback for sure, why pay 550 for a muffler only when you can get the whole package for the same price. Its not trivial.... unless you have tree that grows money on it

There is a third supporting vendor with a CatBack for $399.00 is StainlessWorks, although is not the complete system either, but a good price.

My aploigies to Stainless works, btw after some looking i was able to find the list of supporting vendors, a sticky post in the FAQ forum. MODS think you put that someplace easier to find I doubt most people even know its there.

Stainless Works headers now available

Here's a link to the thread where they talk about the Al's stainless exhaust, prices are mentoned. I couldn't find any reference to the Solstice anywhere at the Al's stainless site hopefully they will update the web site soon.

Looking into the GM exhaust and I found the tips don't come with it...you need to by one of two separately adding to the cost (according to my dealer). Exhaust is a critical component to the overall performance/sound of a car. I've decided to wait until someone else buys one so I can hear for myself (a sound clip just doesn't do it). I can't afford a $600.00 mistake!

Of note for purists and collectors...some of the most valuable collector cars on the market are the ones with the dealer installed factory authorized options. Not that I care to lock my car up in hopes of it becoming a true collector car but certainly food for thought.

I think the biggest benefit of using the GM parts is that if GM puts it on, they can't blame anyone else if it creates other problems down the line. I am hoping I can work out some deals with my dealer to get some of the extras at "cost". I would like to drive the car completely stock for at least a while before I spend extra money on mods.

There are at least 2 members of this forum that have purchased the GM exhaust system, there are also pictures of the exhaust in the thread.
StainlessWorks Web site does not have the Solstice stuff in it yet, but there are pictures of the headers and exhaust also in the thread.

Well it depends what you want, price, performance, looks or all of above... we know from testing that a full cat back system only created 1-2 hp (peek) more than an axle back system. To build a cat back system to our quality standards was going to be more expensive and honestly not worth it for 1-2 hp... plus the shipping of such a part would cost more. We are currently working on a twin tip system with a rear replacement valence which is still a couple months away... if you can wait... this is the exhaust you are going to want to get. We will be testing this system as a cat back and axle back also, and bringing you what we think would make sense.

I wonder if any of the aftermarket folks are considering doing the dual top/bottom and centered exhaust like on the original concept car? That would be cool, even cooler than dual right/left exhaust I think?

Looking forward to the results.. Also looking forward for that Dual tip valance.!! Will that be one on each side, or just twin tip on one side.

... yes, but first we are doing the dual tip. Then moving on to the central exit tip like the concept car.
