I've read various threads about guys wha have been doing intake mods.
However, I don't find it really clear exactly what parts to get etc.
Can anyone post easy DIY intake/resonator mods.

Remove resonator box, cap off opening, remove air filter box with front
entry box, cut off pass sensor 2 inches, place Air Rader filter on.
You can find at filter from Auto Zone. This system works great, and it
only cost $30.00.

See, this is exactly what I mean. You are obviously wanting to pass on the information, which is greatly appreciated. However, there are probably quite a few people here like myself, who are handy, but are not mechanics. So even the instructiuons you gave, really aren't as obviouse as you might think.

For example:

Where is the resonator box.
Where is the air filter. And what do oyu mean with: "remove air filter box with front entry box"
Cut what off pass which sensor 2" where?
Place Air Rader filter on what?
What type of filter?

It would be like you askign me (since I'm and audio engineer) how can I get a good kickdrum sound, and I reply:

Sweep the Q of the EQ to find the frequency that's causign the boxy sound, and then cut. Add some upper mid's to taste. Run it through a compressor and set the attack between 10 and 100ms, and release between 100-250ms.

On diver side by the wheel well you will notice a black box. Take it off.
Cap the opening. I used a massion jar cap painted it black and used the
clamp to seal it. Then you take the two screws on both sides of air filter
box and remove, when the big air filter box is lose you will cut with hax
saw 2" pass the so. sensor about 1/2" from box. This will leave about 2" of intake pipe to place to place Air Rader filter. The Air Rader has reducing
glands that will fit perfectly on intake pipe. Again you can get Air Rader
filter at Auto Zone. It looks really great and add a lot of perfromance to
the Sol. The Air Rader filter is red and has chrome trim. In addition to my
diy cia mod I wraped my intake pipe with a insulation pad, that will keep
my intake pipe cool and adds to my perfromance. You can find this at auto
store, look for wind shield screen, aluminum insulated and wrap intake pipe.
Good luck soltown

Before I start hacking things up. maybe I'll look at finding a replacement, less restrictive airfilter that will fit IN the current filterbox.

I am having problems with your suggestion of bypassing the air sensor, even the aftermarket CAI keep the sensor in place, unless I am not following your explanation correctly.

Cut intake tube about 1/2" from filter box this will put you about 2'' from air sensor. That leaves about 2" of tube to put air filter on.

I had request on my stock intake mod thread and I will post the links to the parts that I got off ebay (silcon elbos, tubing, etc) if it is ok with the moderators. I am not sure if I can. they are just universal parts that would work for any car. so if it is ok let me know and will post. I can also post more in-depth photos of what I did to help all out.
