   who has the best tune?

which company has the best ecm tune? i got mine done at vector but i didnt get to customize it. Dont get me wrong after it was done the car got a ton of power in the low end. When companies say you can customize your tune do you actually get to pick from different options that you want? if so can someone recommend where i could get the most bang for the buck? by the way if i already have a tune done can u just override with the new one? as you can tell i dont know much about cars so any input would be awesome. i got an 06 2.4 auto and i just need something to hold me over until aftermarket turbo or superchargers are made. then my friends i shall never complain again because these cars look way to hot.

You let them know what your mods are and they will get you the most beneficial tune.
Other than that there is no other customization. Sounds like you got all your gonna
get from your tune. Of couse I'm sure it could be tweaked some if put on a dyno.

Nate, Vector tunes are locked so if you want to go to another tuner, you will have to send it back. They will restore it to factory specs so you can get it tuned somewhere else.

I ran my Vector tune for over a year and a half. the only reason I got rid of it was because I added the DDM supercharger.

This is a very good question but you see its also very hard to answer. There are many great tuners on here that make great tunes for our cars. To me is comes down to the money for one....there a couple who sell tunes for half of what others sell them for. With that in mind it now comes to what do you get or how much power do you get for the money? Just about every tuner here gets rid of all the nanny controls and so forth but now who makes the better tune with the mods you have? I have bounced around in my head and with no clear answer here I know of two companies in my mind that I am going to focus on. So money vs benefits who is best? I don't know but I think I can spend less on other vendors here for the same benefits. Its all confusing really so great question.

What is really included in these 'nanny controls'? Are traction ctrl/stabilitrac and 'competition mode' gone? Top speed limiter? A list of what's gone, what's changed, etc. would be good to see so a person knows what they're getting into. Maybe I'll have to 'search' for the answer...

Well I can say the basic nanny controls such as torque limiter and speed limiter are gone as well as most top speeds and revs are raised. Just off the top of my head.

The stock ECM limits the amount of torque available at the given circumstances. With this gone you will feel much quicker power on take offs and the lower end because all that torque is now available to you. I believe and someone correct me if I am wrong that is the reason for some of the hestiation down low.

These tunes cannot do anything with the transmission as of yet so I would say any
torque mgmt help would be minimal. I'm waiting
