I believe JT/72 has it on his car, and I also believe he has Dyno's on it, you may want to PM him.

I installed the GM CAI last month, I don't have any dyno data but my seat of the pants feel a little more respons from 3000 rpm up. Great sound fron the intake and looks great. There is some dyno data on the Kappasphere web site on their system that is similar. I perfer the looks of the GM system ands it is CARRB certified and a GM part.
Send me an E-mail at :dvdbgfsh@aol.com and I send you pix of installed system.

I installed it last week, after having the car for only about 2 days! Feels a little stronger but nothing huge. The biggest dofference in the sound of the engine! It really growls when you put your foot into it.
I like it and would recommend it, looks cool, sounds cool, adds some hp and it's a GM part!
Thank you denette.
I am really looking into the GM CAI, just becuase it will not void your warranty
an aftermarket part will not void a warranty......the addition of that part must be directly linked to the cause of a failure by the dealer in order for warranty work to be denied.....the CAI and the Fujutia CAI sold by kappasphere are fundamentally the same...different packaging....dry vs oil filter....but generally are the same and functional exactly the same IMHO

I like the combo of CAI and CATback....the power and sound seem just right...looks good and we've had all of them at our Meet&greets....chefmartin has the other and it's very nice too. We had a "soundoff" last time and the kids thought my GM and the Kappa with BB dual exhaust sounded the same....

I installed the GM CAI on the Solstice today - took 45 minutes, including test drive. The car now has the pep I was looking for in second gear and the car growls! The conversion is easy and the GM parts fit and look great!
So far I've had my ECM retuned by through Vector Motorsports. I could definatly feel the difference. Today I sent Big Red off to the dealer for the CAI and the Cat-Back. I'm starting to think I should have waited for the GXP. If anyone is iterested I'll take pics and let you know if there is a difference in performance.
I too installed the GM PIA and it went well. It took about 1 hour, only because I was cautious not to make a mistake. I could now install one in 15 or 20 minutes. My Sol seems like it has more pep in all gears and does sound better. I believe the sound is louder because it is breathing better. I just turned 500 miles yesterday, so I haven't really tried to push it.
I was amazed at how much the original system weighed, compared to the GM PIA. My guess is that it took out almost half of the weight.
The most difficult thing to do was to install the rubber elbow that connects the throttle body to the air intake tube. It was 43 degrees in my garage at the time and it was really stiff. I could not get it to slide over either the TB or the PIA tube...no matter what I did. Then I got an idea...I took some really hot water and soaked the the elbow in it. I dried if off, inside and out and it slipped right over each end. That ended my problem. I probably spent 15 minutes just trying to install the elbow!
There is a metal rain shield that goes over the air filter and I wasn't sure how it would prevent rain from entering. It is like a metal tent that goes over the top of it. Anyway I installed it as per instructions. Later I washed the car and opened the hood to dry off the edges and underside areas. Water ran down the inside of the hood right on top of the shield. If it wasn't there...I would have had a wet filter.

Yep... yep... he is correct. I heard the sound of perfection. ~~ Trent

I picked it up about an hour ago and all I have to say is Holly Crap!! This is the way the Solstice should have came from the factory. I was worried that I was doing all of these upgrades for nothing but I'm glad I did them anyway. Two thumbs up for the ECM retune, GM CAI and the Cat-Back. I'm one happy camper!
